I think Minecraft's multiplayer community is overall better/not as bad as other games, but I've definitely had bad experiences before. And hackers and abusive admins are the absolute worst.

Anyway, I figured you guys probably have some things to rant about on this subject too. What's the worst multiplayer experience you've had on Minecraft so far?

The worst experience I could say I've had is another player destroying something I built, I mean it was rebuild-able but I was still upset cause it took time and effort, and that's one of the many reasons why I don't play on multi-player that much anymore.

I think the worst part of Minecraft multiplayer is playing with other players who have cheat clients. They may be fun to use, but it's pretty hard to deal with. In PVP multiplayer servers, people turn on aimbot and instantly kill you, making it impossible to even fight back. It's pretty funny, but it's also annoying to play against.

There was one time, in a faction server when I was fully decked out in enchanted diamond armour, but someone with Nodus or an equivalent hacked client tracked my whereabouts and went into my base. Thereafter, the player who was in iron armour swung his sword at an insane pace and I could not even get close to him. Further, he was not even facing in my direction, so obviously revealing the use of a forcefield hack (This hack is patched now in most servers :D). It was really annoying and I just made multiple futile attempts to gain my ground, but I could not even get an inch closer to him than his epic attack range. I just left the server after getting killed and returned, only to find all my faction's assets and property laying in ruins, from the devastative force of TNT :(.

I always have a bad experience whenever I find a server that is "Pay to Win," it's disappointing if it's a server that has a very fun game mode to play in. Servers that have the game Survival Games do that, you can pay for an absolutely overpowered combat kit that can kill everyone and you will never get killed with it, it's ridiculous.

I agree with LightJeep about "Pay to Win" servers. I really dislike those, and I tend to try and avoid them, especially when dealing with vanilla survival servers, when paying can get you game-breaking amounts of resources. I think it's against the spirit of the game, which is to play and improve slowly over time.

I think my personal worst multiplayer experience was playing with a friend of mine on a relatively small server. We are close friends IRL, so we were having somewhat of an in-joke conversation over private chat, and the admin/owner broadcasted how hilarious we were being over server-wide chat. It was disconcerting and unprofessional, and I can guarantee you I've not been on that server since.

I just avoid Pay to Win servers at all cost, they're never fun. As for griefing, there are lots of anti-grief servers so don't let that scare you away from multiplayers. But hackers are the absolute worst because they can turn a nice community and good server into madness.

Well one of my friends wanted me to join his server and he said it was sort of like a game of thrones concept with all the houses and such. I gave it a try and it was actually not that bad, of course when I was playing on the server only him, his brother and myself were on. Then I met the owner and actual admins, these guys acted like they were ten year olds. One of them would port to me and just troll me by hitting me a few times, or spawning a bunch of stuff in the place I was living at. It was by far the worst experience ever.

Played on a 100+ player server.. built my home multiple times, got griefed in every single one of them. Got trauma from that and I avoid huge servers from now on.

My worst Minecraft multiplayer experience is definitely on a server called Wumblecraft. The owner didn't have any staff, and he was extremely abusive. The server was open for less than 2 weeks, at times the owner would randomly teleport me and other players to prisons with lava in them. Horrible spawn protection, you wont get too far without being shot in the back by a guy camping outside of spawn. It was an overall horrible experience, I don't know why such a person would make a server just for the tormenting of its players.

I had this awesome base that a friend and I made. It was filled with so much good and valuable stuff that him and I would use to go PVP and Raid. One day, a faction comes, claims it, and then destroys every little bit of it with TNT. Our mistake was that we had a ladder and trapdoor on the top that people could see if they went far enough into the world.

This is why I usually like to make a small box near bedrock level with no entrance, then live in it for eternity.

If you check out Youtube you can see that just like every other multi-player game ever made, there will be

trolls. Some people just like to cause chaos and make the game unenjoyable for the rest. I have been to

many servers that are designed just for that purpose. There many videos out there of poor players being

    tortured.

This is what I hate. I see tons of griefing videos by different channels, some famous. I have to admit, some channels like teamavolition make me chuckle occasionally. I honestly don't understand why someone likes to destroy another persons creation that the person has worked hard on. They then upload it on youtube, is it for the money from ad monetization, or is it for personal amusement?

I hate those servers that don't allow griefing, but then if you get griefed the admins don't do anything about it. Doesn't take much to install coreprotect .-.

The owner's account got hacked, and the hacker world edited in so much lava that it practically destroyed my poor PC, and ruined the server. We ended up having to do a map reset.

Definitely griefers on a server I spent a lot of time on. If they ruin my hard work, I feel like crap. Thank god for save files! Griefers really really suck, it's not even funny to ruin other peoples' hard work.

YEPPP that's my least favorite thing too. It's totally uncool spending so much time on a server and then having griefers destroy it! I get so mad when that happens, it's really annoying!
