Would like to customize gear a bit more

I don't think you will find anyone who is against customizing gear in a MMORPG.

 

I would love to be able to pain my armor. That would make me even more unique compared to others. Also maybe being able to model your own armor? I don;t know how much is it possible in terms of programming, but if the game developers could make that possible, it would be epic!

 

Yes I agree. One aspect that this game is lacking is the equipment customization. A simple recolor and color pallet is very easy to implement and it's not altering any styles and textures of the original armor so that would really entice a lot of people to play this game. In addition, maybe they could even have different stats per color or some sort of reward system where the players benefit from trying to be unique with their character's gear. I also think that would vastly improve the game play and community aspect as well.

 

What do you exactly mean by customization? You can already transmog your gear and make it look the way you want. What more than that?

 

I would love to something like the community market that Valve uses. This is because I find that most of the new design seem rather lame or too extravagant so I'd like to get more options to choose the one that looks better.

 

I don't know if the creaking WoW game engine could handle a good level of customisation, I quite like being restricted to the lore friendly armour that Blizzard sets out for us, would hate to see gaudy pink armour or penis pics on everyones breastplate.

 

Personally, I'd just be happy if they'd lift the transmog requirements and let us transmog what we want to what we want. For example, my Paladin healer has a great Blue Dragonflight set that I've put together for her but it all hinges on a helm that happens to be cloth and with the current plate to plate only restrictions I'm stuck having her in an ugly plate helm that ruins the entire set! The definitely took a step forward removing the restrictions on some weapons, but I'd like to see that in gear as well. In my opinion, if you've got the gear you should be able to transmog it regardless of type.

 

Yeah it's a great idea and sometimes you like an armoured gear but it has a small thing on it that you hate and ruins the whole thing. I understand that Blizzard can't allow everybody to redesign their stuff but maybe they could add a vendor that for a significant sum of gold could change things that you don't like.

 

Not to be contrarian.. but to a degree I disagree with too much customization. If you played UO, you would know why. The problem is a large percentage ( maybe even a majority) would make themselves look hideous on purpose. Florescent colors that don´t match. During the peak of WOW, you would go to the popular bank, and half the people would look like a clown convention and the other half would be in all black.

Wow had a period where that happened.. In early BC, the guest and crafting gear resulted in some crazy looking combinations and people also referred to it as looking like a clown... but even then, it was nothing compared to the west brit bank in UO.

 

I'm not exactly demanding adjustable coloured bands on my shoulderpads with custom textures, but something like a transmog system that just lets you wear whatever would be nice. And somebody could explain why we STILL don't have a set of armour that looks like the ones Stormwind guards are wearing. I mean, really? It's been like ten years. Those models have got to be somewhere. The RP value is immense.
