Would you like to see more RPG elements in Minecraft?

The crafting system with the levels somewhat brings to mind RPG elements. Would you like to see more RPG elements in Minecraft? You could have a basic level system for certain traits and whatnot. There's a lot of ways you could implement such features into the game without changing things too drastically.

I don't like role playing games too much, so I'm happy with the way Minecraft turned out to be. For the people that want to play RPGs, there are definitely mods and dedicated servers around that offer just that! I wouldn't want it to be implemented in vanilla though, it just doesn't feel right to me.

That'd be awesome. I've been on a couple of those servers with RPG elements and they are pretty fun.

Not really. I like some RPG games, but I don't think it really belongs in Minecraft, not in Vanilla anyway.. Maybe on servers, but that's about it. I wouldn't really enjoy that kind of thing.

Yes, I do think more RPG elements are appreciable because the RPG factor of Minecraft is what makes this game still so competitive and alive. That being said, I do still think this game has developed quite nicely and would not be disappointed if the game stayed the same in terms of genre.

I love RPG games so I'd love to see some more RPG elements like statistic points or skill points!

DivineRPG was a great mod, but I think that's as far as I would want to take the RPG aspect of the game

I am a hardcore fan of RPGs and if Minecraft became one of those, I wouldn't be able to put it down.

Although i would love to see them, i think the game will continue without them due to its creative capabilities.

I think that would be an awesome idea to be honest. I would love to see more RPG elements in minecraft. I love the RPG world, so having some elements would be awesome. I am sure the game will be a lot better with or without them.

If they weren't mandatory they could make a net addition and for those taht don't want to use them it wouldn't affect their gameplay any.

Yeah, it would be pretty neat to see a few more of these. I've seen a few on some servers and they're really fun. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate this.

I would love to see more RPG elements in the vanilla Minecraft, but as others have stated there are lots of multiplayer servers where players have built up completely customized systems that replicate a standard RPG or JRPG. While it would be a cool feature if it were implemented in Vanilla I think it adding too many numbers would completely change what Minecraft is currently known for.

As long as it wasn't an over complicated system it would enhance the game but I'm wary of such a system changing what has made the game tick for so long. Ideally I'd go on an RPG server whenever I need a fix and enjoy regular for the rest of the day :)

As a fan of RPG games, I would personally love to see it. However, Minecraft has been pretty big for a long time without those RPG elements and it may be better off to not alienate the audience of Minecraft fans who arne't fans of RPGs. I don't think traits and abilities are really necessities, however. Minecraft does have it's own progression of sorts with gear. Using gear you can emulate abilities and whatnot without really needing to implement them. I mean, with the proper items and whatnot you can outfit yourself for teleportation, fireballs, waterbreathing, night vision, etc. With the right mindset Minecraft is already that kind of game.

They should at least make it so you can level up weapons and tools. They have a mod for that, but still I would like to see it put into the game all together. That is the only thing I would ever change or add to Minecraft when it comes to the whole RPG thing.

No need for Minecraft to be like that. Maybe some other servers but Minecraft is okay as it is.

RPG elements? Probably not. I like MC as it is. Maybe you can make other servers work on that but on the game itself it probably would not be a great idea. Or at least not for me.

I would like to see a leveling system for the tools and equipment, and perhaps more monsters. There are plenty of mods for those though. If they did put an rpg element in the actual game I would like it if it was its own thing. Like an rpg mode. This is because I play mine craft differently depending on who I'm playing with. If its just me or my husband I'm all for rpg elements, but when I play with my daughter we like to build more then explore.

I think more RPG elements in Minecraft would be amazing. It would add much more gameplay to Minecraft, and would make vanilla have some more progression to it, currently, in vanilla you go wood-stone-iron-diamond, and then you are pretty much done with any progression.

I feel adding potions added more RPG elements to the game but I feel it isn't enough. Maybe in later updates certain articles of clothing can be added (maybe mage caps to give magic powers? certain swords can have abilities?) that will give you powers. But abilities don't make an RPG so maybe adding more lore to the game will make it a more RPG-esque type of game. Maybe Mojang can secretly add lore and the players will have to piece it together? Not sure just letting my mind wander.

    Cheers!
