What do you think the best WoW edition is out there to start from the ground up? I haven't played in the longest time. Thinking about getting back into it for a little bit. Also if anyone has any tips on building up/leveling up the fastest way send them my way.

Not sure what you mean by best edition? What was the last expansion you played?

Just log back into your account, you will have all the expansions up to and including Mists of Pandaria, they all come free with normal accounts. The only expansion you will have to buy is WoD, but that is at lvl 90, which you wn´t have to worry about for a long time.

I think he's asking about what the best expansion was. Maybe he's playing on private servers, and there you have to choose between different expansion packs and versions.

If he IS referring to expansion packs, then I believe that Cataclysm was the best, because it brought a lot of change (both to the world, but also to the classes and the lore), and that the second best is Wrath of the Lich King, because it closed the Scourge story pretty nicely, and because it had a lot of fantastic content.

I really liked the TBC expansion. It wasn't like the vanilla but neither with the tons of addition that there are now and that to be honest I'm a bit sick of them.

For me, the best was vanilla, TBC and WoD. Though I find all of the expansions to be memorable one way or another. I found WoD to be immensely fun because the effort it took to get what you want was similar to vanilla.

I think the best was WotLK for me. The story was great, the raids were incredible, and I think overall the atmosphere as well was unique compared to the expansions we have today.

I really loved WotLK. As srofltank said, the story was amazing and I had a lot of fun playing it. The atmosphere was something unique that I don't think we'll ever see again.

Thought so, well in that case I can answer. TBC hands down. In my opinion this was the best time for WoW. Plenty of content, hard enough dungeons, challenging PvP and a good mix of what I would describe as "quality of life" implementation but still aiming towards the core players. Lots of realm play, we still knew who the top guilds were and the best PvPers. Not like now where its all anonymous. I played warlock PvP and Pally tank as Horde (was very gear dependent) mostly. No-lifed my paladin on horde to 70.

Then Wotlk came and still held some of that. After that it all sucked in my opinion!

Loved WOTLK. That was when I first started playing WoW "full time". Naxx and ICC were two of my favorite raids of all time. I am not sure whether it has to do with the content or the guild I was with, maybe a bit of both. I haven't enjoyed an expansion as much since. MoP was the next best. WoD and Cata? Meh.
