I like Rift better, simply because it implements things from Guild Wars 2 as well. Like world events and such. It also has a much more flexible character development system then WoW has. WoW is a really good game, don`t get me wrong, but it is starting to show it`s age.

Rift has a more dynamic world and more creativity in character classes and customization. Wow has better dungeons and raids, but you really are like every other person of your spec. WOW cared a little too much about balance, and so removed any way to make your spec unique from any other person of the same spec. Yes, you have some talents, but either they are very similar, or else they are rarely used.

I've been playing both recently. WoW got kinda dry for me so I'm playing some Rift and enjoying it.

I never could get into Rift despite it having a lot of features that are similar to GW2/GW1. I think the UI and the storyline just didn't jive with me enough to dive into it.

WoW is really due and obsolete... I'm still surprised people consider playing it nowadays, even with that still-enormous fee! Rift is more dynamic and enticing... gets you hooked right from the start. WoW has never achieved that with me, not even when it was hyped asf.

Hard to beat nostalgia and good customer support. Tons still play because they spent so much time and effort into it and for the other reasons I mentioned as well. But not everything hooks people the same way. I despised Rift's UI to the point where I don't want to touch it again. Struggled through Skyrim for the same reason. Console UI for the PC version. I wanted to punch something.

WoW is slowly dying out and I don't see it making a comeback anytime soon, but I still love playing it from time to time. Better than Rift for me.

I have always been a WoW guy myself. I do like Rift, but if I had to choose I would have to go with the classic WoW. I have played it more and am just more familiar with it, so that means I enjoy playing it a lot more. I also know a lot more people who play it so it makes for better conversation. It does depend on my mood though, and there are times when I might go the other way.

I'd go for WoW but maybe it's because I've played it longer. I'm still trying to familiarize Rift but it's really a great game so far.
