When did you start WoW, and how did you first hear about it? what expansions have you bought and played with the game? do you still play now? I have never gotten into WoW at all, but I want to learn more about the community before I try to jump into it!

Ex got me into it big time after moving from WA to the Midwest. Played all the expansions. Currently not playing since I don't have the time.

I started playing with my friends a long, long time ago. I played through all the expansions mostly but I haven't touched the game in a while. I kind of lost interest, sadly.

I was born a poor black man with no soul... ( anyone know the reference??)

I started playing a few months after launch. I actually did not want to play at all because I was addicted to UO and the whole crafting system. When I read that you could only have 2 crafting professions on a single character and that the best gear came from monsters.. .. I just had no desire to join. But then UO changed, and basically killed crafting....so.

My friend told me about it and persuaded me to play it, we both end up leaving and re-joining at similar times (we've pretty much quit for good now). It's not that it's a bad game but it's not worth it anymore. Back then though it was pretty fun and I had some good times questing and wasting endless hours grinding.

I started playing in 2007, just at the end of BC. I started playing seriously after the release of WOTLK in 2008. I still remember it was my college roommates who got me into it. We all bonded over the game and it kept me out of trouble during my freshman year of college. I still play to this day, and I have played every expansion.

Jump into it. Odds are, you'll love it. The community has its share of clowns and trolls, however, I have generally had more positive experiences than negative.

A friend who is a huge fan of the Warcraft RTS games got me into it back in February 2005. Then I bought my own copy and subscription in April 2005.

My first character was a Horde Undead Warrior, but I didn't like it at all after about ten levels. So I restarted and played a Horde Tauren Hunter. I fell in love with it. My first server was Daggerspine in North America. PvP was my thing. So all of the subsequent server transfers went to PvP realms until about 2010, when I played primarily on PvE realms.

I am what one would call a "Legacy Player" because I enjoyed the old mechanics where everything required a lot of effort to achieve. These days, most players feel they are entitled to buy their epic gear without much effort, go into raids and get the best by spending less time playing and make constantly flame Blizzard for not giving them the chance to fly around in Draenor. Then complain when they didn't do it sooner.

I go back to it, because it's fun and in the rare moments I bump into a Lieutenant General, General or Warlord, even a High Warlord, it brings back to the days of Alterac Valley PvP glories, where we spent 6+ hours trying to beat the enemy back. My biggest Legacy achievement is attaining the PvP rank of Senior Sergeant, though I could have been a First Sergeant if I had logged in one more day for PvP. Back in those days, honor and ranking in PvP depreciated if you don't continuously fight.

I heard of it maybe seven or eight years ago since a friend of mine started to play it. I tested with my own computer and after all it ended up being one of my favorite games over the time.

I used to be a vivid Warcraft III Frozen Thrones player back in the days. I first heard of it while playing Warcraft and got hooked into it instantly. I spent almost 3 years completely immersed playing and now I've slowly lost interest.

I have first started playing WoW with the Burning Crusade expansion. I have played it for a couple of months, but stopped just before Wrath of the Lich King got released. I am really curious how the game has evolved since then, and I might jump back in, once Legion gets released.

I tried it back when they still used a free trial because my sub was up on EQ2 and I just kept playing. I get bored after awhile so it's been an on and off kind of thing for several years. When I take a break I still pop in every now and then to maintain my guild.

Used to be a RTS fanatic with a couple of friends, playing Starcraft and Warcraft religiously. After I heard that World of Warcraft is being made, I spectated a friend play his human character in a very early stage in the game, so I started in Vanilla, played all throughout TBC, WotLK and Cata, then stopped altogether around 2012, shortly after MOP release.

My husband got me started in BC, and just got my main toon to endgame a week or two before WotLK hit. I had to hang it up after MoP hit, because school/life got in the way, but I've been eyeballing my husband's screen when I'm home. He still plays fairly regularly, and I'm ticked he has more mounts than me now. :p
