I know we already have a similar thread to this, but the other one had a slightly different purpose and was initially just a question. Not sure what happened with it after that as I don't think I've ever posted in it. However, basically I just wanted to make this thread so everyone who has taken part in some Metro cosplay can post their pics here and share them with others. Please post pictures of only yourself in costume. It can be someone else in costume, as long as it is you who took the photo and/or own the items shown.

Anyway, I'll begin with mine. I don't have a lot of military stuff, so the most post-apocalytpic part of my cosplay are the two gas masks I own. I'd like to point out as well that this is the first time I've ever done any cosplay in my life, so please don't be too harsh - but feel free to share your honest opinion of it regardless. All of the pictures are of me (taken outside), in two different costumes. It's not snowing in England yet so it isn't very accurate, but I still tried to get the pictures taken in some appropriate places.

The first three pictures of my first costume, which is a normal type of stalker. Not necessarily ex-military, but definitely the scavenging type:

The second three are slightly different, in my second costume. This cosplay reminds me more of a Fourth Reich officer, or something:

As you have probably noticed, I did not attach the filters to either of the gas masks used. This is just a safety precaution, since the filters are expired and I would rather not risk any potential harm to my lungs or some other crap. I did try to get a picture taken of me holding the filter next to the MC-1 to make it look like the character is changing his filter, which can be seen in the last two photos. Hope you enjoyed it; I can't wait to see what others come up with. :)

    My opinions...

For the first three pictures: If you were looking for a scavenger feel, I think you got it. A few wears and tears, scrapes and dust on it might give it a post-apocalyptic effect.

For the second batch: For a stalker in STALKER sense, you look every bit of a renegade with the coat, dogtags and 'cool' shirt. For a stalker in Metro sense... well, let's just say you're a bit naked there. A little more covering around the neck and chest areas is my suggestion, but over all it looks a lot more like a bandit for me. Must be the coat.

Overall: Nice first time! You should also try to take pictures of yourself in 'stalking' mode. Show more of a feeling. The first three capture the scavenger idea perfectly, but I still think you can do more. Crouching behind those trash cans while clutching a duffel bag, hiding behind a car and covering your ears with your palms while in a fetal postion are some poses I can think of.

The third one of the first series is fantastic!!

You job with the look....you just need a gun, now!

    Here's my cosplay:

Also, this was not directly related to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, though i realised afterwards that it could have something with it.

How do you see me as some kind of Loner in the Zone?

Awesome, from both o'ya! Fingerless gloves ftw, and nice Dragunov, Rolf! (I really hope that it's a Dragunov.. :p)

As for my pictures, I guess we've all seen them before, but I'm posting them here anyway. The S10 gasmask isn't the best choice of gasmask, the HK could go away. The revolver is acceptable, and the katana.... just no. I know I'm wearing socks as well, and standing on a balcony. 'Twas pretty much mostly just to show off how I could be able to do some good cosplaying.

In all honesty, I'm not allowed by my parents to have these, and have been hiding them for a while. They recently discovered them, and they're reasonable enough to give me the time to sell them and not instantly throw 'em in the trash. So unfortunately, I'm getting rid of it all except the Katana, and perhaps an exception of the mask as well. But, if the snow comes (Which it should soon enough) within the time I get them sold, I'll suit up with my bud who has five gasmasks and a whole closet of metro/stalker-like clothes. We'll go to some good metro/stalker-like place and have another guy to take some good HD photos of us ;)

    Nice Socks Skaara :p

If my parents wouldn't allow such things and discover them, I would hide them again^^

Of course it is a Dragunov! :D

Well, i'm sorry that you have to give away your stuff.

The outfit wasn't bad, though carrying around 2 rifles wouldn't be my first option in a Survival situation ...i know you took those pictures just to show what you could do,anyway.

You're right, I do look more like a bandit in the second three - the costume isn't neat or organized enough to be Fourth Reich (you know how the Nazis liked to be "fabulous"). Thanks for the tips, btw! I was thinking the same about the clothes - none of them look that worn, but I didn't want to mess them up because they are just normal clothing items I go out in (though in different combinations and without the gas masks). :p I tried to get some more "stalking" shots the first time around, but on the second costume it actually started raining so I just went out my back door and got someone else to take a few pictures quickly. :(

As for the cosplay of other members': Rolf, your first three are spot-on. They definitely do look like a real ranger, especially an ex-military type. Only improvement I can think of is that they don't look that worn either, but I understand why that is since I didn't want to damage any of my stuff either. I wish I had some guns in mine as well, but real ones are illegal in England and fake, not-plasticky-looking toys but real replicas are a real bitch to get because of the prices and/or regulations. :( As for the second three; they look nothing like anything from Metro, but they certainly fit STALKER. Actually, they look exactly like a stalker of the Zone would look like. The trees in the background are a perfect fit as well. Skaara, your cosplay is really badass. Very nice items, clothing and colour theory, but you're right - it doesn't look that much like a (Metro) stalker would. Still, very nicely done and looks great. :) It's a shame you have to sell almost all of it, but I gotta say: congratulations on keeping it hidden. Keeping all of that out of sight must have been a pain. :p

Haha, thank you. But it wasn't much of a challenge; I just put them in the top of my closet and put some bags and random junk on top of them, and only took them out when my parents weren't at home. They never look in my closet, haha. Ironically, the reason why they found out, is because I borrowed my father's camera to take the two cosplay pictures. I deleted them afterwards, but there's some weird save-thing, so they weren't deleted, and he soon found them and raged completely xD

Ah, hearing you say this is so satisfying,Bamul!

And yes, i would like to keep my stuff intact, although it may affect the realism.

Regarding the other pictures, i'm so glad that olives fit the pic!

Let's all improve ourselves with the cosplays!

There we go. Shitty picture but it was pretty difficult to take it since I had noone around to do it.. so I had to use the 10 sec timer and it's freakin diffcult to move in those hazmat suits.. I feel bad for the people who have to do it irl!

Nice - your cosplay actually reminds me of the Red squads that spread the virus and executed people in Last Light at one of the stations (I think it was Oktyabrskaya, but I may be wrong). Very Metro-like and quite sinister looking, though it doesn't look quite rugged enough for the average metro dweller and too scientific for the average stalker/ranger. Still, like I said, it would fit in perfect during that section of the game's plot. Very nice. :) Also, the shitty quality of the photo actually somehow makes it more atmospheric and evil. :p

Haha thats true - and yes it's Oktyabrskaya :)
I don't know if it's too scientific for a stalker/ranger.. in the books at least they are described to wear "anti-radioactive suits" etc. :p but I know what you mean^^
I did edit the photo a little so it looks more like a tunnel or some facility! and I truly look kinda evil lol :D thx

That's true, I was only referring to the games - my bad. In Piter they even cover all cavities in their suits (or anything that could expose their skin) using tape.

Damn, that's not good. :( I think I may have inhaled a bit of talc when wearing my MC-1 gas mask, because they used that while storing it before I bought it and I was coughing for hours after taking it off.
