Your opinion of Solstheim?

For those who have the Dragonborn DLC, what's your opinion of Solstheim?

I loved the Morrowind-ish feel to it. I loved Morrowind as it is what got me into TES, and having it recreated somewhat in Solstheim was very nostalgic. Especially if you take in consideration the one lone silt strider they have over there.

I never played any of the older Elder Scrolls games so the first time I saw it in Skyrim my jaw dropped it was impressive, but after I finish all the Skyrim DLC's I plan on buying the other elder scrolls titles.

I preferred it in TES III but I do agree that they did a great job recapturing the feel of it for Skyrim. Seeing that a certain wizard had relocated there brought out a chuckle in me.

After beating Dawngaurd I went their last night and so far I don't like the environment to much, but maybe it takes some getting used to, but I can say the map is quite large which is cool!

It was good, not jaw dropping good, but just, you know, meh! I guess I was desensitised by the whole experience of Skyrim.

I have not played the expansion packs. I have looked at screenshots and from what I can see and from what I remember of Morrowind, it looks kind of the same. I wonder if the developers were really aiming for this. I think they did because it gives fans a sense of home.

I thought it was really neat and different from the rest of skyrim but not TOO much.

To be honest I love the environment I usually spend my time in Solstheim also on most of my characters I go their after I discover Kynesgrove.

I love Solstheim, reminds me a lot of the Bloodmoon expansion for Morrowind, and the additional story content is very good too, you have to go up against another Dragonborn after all.

I also noticed that Solstheim had a Morrowwind type of look and feel as well. Especially when you first start Dragonborn. Overall it was a great expansion to an already great game.

As a Skyrim fan, I didn't see the expansion as being anything special. As a Morrowind fan however, I definitely loved the flash back to the past. It brought back some pretty good memories.

Having never played Morrowind, I wasn't able to draw any parallels (although I knew it was Morrowind-esque). Like the poster above me, I didn't find anything remarkable or special about the world itself. The main quest was pretty interesting, though, and actually more fun (IMO) than the main quest from the main game. I think more could have been done with it, but thats another debate for another day.

Though I loved the new quests for Dragonborn, I felt like Solstheim was a bit barren. It fels less popluated and less "alive" than the regions of Skyrim. With that being said, I still explored every corner of the map!

I liked Solstheim, and explored it just for the sake of Morrowind/Bloodmoon nostalgia.

I enjoyed the Morrowind feel of Solstheim, as well as the Lovecraftian visits to Hermaeus Mora's territory. I also thoroughly enjoyed getting revenge for always getting interrupted by those two uppity cultists after returning from High Hrothgar. I look forward to visiting solstheim again with a Dunmer instead of my last Nord playthrough.

It was recreated in a pretty good way, though I dislike all the ash. Still liked it better in Morrowind, it felt more deserted.
