I have overwritten a saved game more than a few times. I will be playing along saving the game as I go. For some reason, I will start a new character (to show someone something or other). I will then, out of habit, forget to change the name of the game I save and then the deed is done.
I've had corrupt saved games before, but they happened in earlier games. These days, I haven't had any saved games problems, but knock on wood! I don't want to jinx this. ^_^
I had my saves corrupt but i have never deleted them. When my save corrupted i just quit the game for a few months.
That's terrible! I've never had that same experience happened to me thank God. It's bad enough that you deleted a saved game how much more if you've done so much already in the game, that really sucks big time. I hope you won't lose your saved game again next time.
I had just started getting my foot in the door of GTA online (i was a level 35.) I went to switch characters, and i deleted it. No chance to say yes or no, no warning, nothing. What upsets me is that it was so easy to do so.
I've had it happen on the PC - not that they disappeared, but that I had to wipe out and reinstall and forgot to back up the save files so when I got back into the game, they were gone. I was pretty unhappy and also chose not to play those games for a while.
I haven't had the privilege of it happening but my best friend has managed to pull it off on more than one occasion. Its not a pretty site to watch someone melt down after they do it either.
I had this problem once when I was playing Final Fantasy XIII. At least I was only about 3-4 hours in when my PC Blue Screened me and I when I rebooted, all the save data was gone. I guess that when I saved for the first time, the data must have not written onto the hard drive for some reason. Anyway, if this has occurred when I was 10-20 hours into the game I would be pretty upset.
I have done that mus then I learned of a mistake and made a copies of the save files everytime I finished playing. However, I just upgraded my operating system and remembered to take a copy of every save file so I wouldn't repeat my mistakes again.
