Even if there is no new Metro series game, I'm pretty sure 4A Games will come up with a title as epic as Metro. I don't think you would be disappointed by their work.

Yeah, they'll probably come up with an equally awesome game but I'd love if they'd bring a sequel. The franchise deserves it, and they could really make a profit since the fans would get really hyped over this.

Even if they said no, it's impossible that they're gonna stop there. The games have sold well enough that it just makes sense to make a sequel. So in the far future it is certain that there will be another Metro game. I'm sure the publisher knows that.

Its the end of 2015 and no comments have been made concerning another Metro game, But here are my two cents.

Personally, i think a new Metro game will loose touch with fans. I'm not sure how many people around here actually played 2033 but i noticed a difference between it and Last Light. We all hear about these, "Broader Audience experience" comments and for this type of game now days, that means the Call of Duty experience & forget about the prior fans.

For 2033, It is a combination of instinctive controls with the dark scary experience in the universe roaming the Metros alone that introduced mysterious Characters & also a good story. Also, the realistic fact of always being scarce for ammo and depleting the cartridges. (At least for me):p

I really do like Last Light but it deviated from the above details. I liked the graphics and affects, but i wasn't so sucked into the experience as i was 2033. It was just, "Unload your clip because you have 5 more to go"

4A Games are radio silent with the topic, sadly.
I just got Metro 2035 today, already read 2 chapters of it and its incredible!

The only thing that will calm down my hype for another metro game is a Metro Movie, since MGM acquired the rights for the film, I think that late 2016/early 2017, we might see a trailer or a teaser for it.

For now, I am replaying both Redux games day by day.

But they aren't; they've said earlier that they're not focusing on any apocalyptic games in the near future, and the rumors of the upcoming space-sim they're developing is yet another proof of that statement. As for later in the future.. Who knows?

There is this relatively new article about 4A Games, according to it the space sim is suspended/delayed and they are back to focusing on a Metro sequel that is "Radically different" from the ones before, would be nice if some one else could confirm this though.

Since I cant post links had had to change it around a bit:

Shame that there supposedly won't be another Metro game, I've been wanting an open-world addition since day one.

I am always so curious what they mean with a "radically different" game. More colors and fluf? Top down? Plants vs Zombies style? I have no idea what we can expect from that (I am hoping for another metro game in the same style, preferably the style of the original metro 2033). Maybe set in the metro's of St Petersburg? :D

    "radically different"

    From 2014.
-"For the game we are working on now, our designers have shifted to a more sand-box-style experience - less linear but still hugely story-driven," he said. "I will not go into details, but it requires some work from programmers as well."

    From linkedin proffile. Late 2015.
    • Unannounced project (Metro setting). Inventory and crafting systems, trade and loot systems,
weapons system design, prefabs, task setting for tools and gameplay improvements, a bit of C++ coding.
    • Unannounced project (space setting, preproduction phase, project suspended) Early weapons system design and documentation, participation in creation of the setting.

I just hope they attend this years E3 and blow us away with the new Metro game.
Just finished my 5!th playthrough of 2033&LL.It's one of the best FPS games I've ever played.Even the visuals put to shame the new, 'NG' titles.

    4A,tease us with something FFS
