Yesterday, I was deciding about which game to download first, then I suddenly remembered Ragnarok Online, my favorite MMORPG ever. So yeah, I downloaded it and installed it. To my surprise, the towns are still quite active. It's really nostalgic, hearing the BGM and visiting the different towns. I might spend a few days playing Ragnarok and see if I'll get hooked. If not, I'll move on and try out some of the suggestions in this thread. SWTOR is next on my list.

Definitely, Ragnarok Online. I remember my brother playing it when he was in highschool; it was still pay to play at the time and he devoted a long time to master his level 100 wizard with LV10 Firewall haha. Now that Ragnarok Online is free to play, I would strongly recommend it; the gameplay and BGM is amazing for a game this old. However, don't bother with it's successor Ragnarok Online 2, pretty crap compared to the original.

Aside from Ragnarok, I've played TERA Online/TERA Rising. To be honest, it's quite a fun game with great graphics, but it can get repetitive and hard to play if you have no party members or friends to play with. I would suggest you to also try this out, but beware that the download is ~25GB! What can you expect from a graphically advanced game made in Unreal Engine 3?

RIFT is now free to play isn't it? I've got a friend who plays it who apparently claims it to be better than WoW (Obviously not comparable but in quality of gameplay he says), so I'd check that out if you haven't already.

Yes, Rift is F2P now, but that's not the game you should play if you are not a a fan pf grinding in the game. Just play Age of Conan or TSW (It's B2P though).

Try Dragon Nest. If you haven't tried it yet, you should seriously consider playing it. One of the best non-target MMO out there.

Star Wars Old Republic is the generic answer to this question. Why? Because it's really good, I don't play it anymore but when I did, I had lots of fun! Give it a try!
