    Yeah I prefer playing in 1.7. Probably because it's where all my mods are...

    A lot of 1.8 pre-releases were released a while ago. The full 1.8 release came out as well, but it's been a while now. Like a lot of other people mentioned, it's still the same. Some tweaks here and there, but nothing really changed.

    I have 1.8 on my computer now. As a person who hates trying to make mods work with certain versions of Minecraft I am fairly pleased with the blocks in this go round. The slime blocks and red sandstone are particularly interesting to me. I haven't had any crashes or other problems yet.

    Yea, I mainly play 1.8. It's what all the servers run and it has new items and such.

    It's also more optimized for the majority of computers which is nice.

    It's basically the same. Yes, things are a bit different but nothing so insane that you would have to learn all over again.
