Are you Addicted to WoW?

How many hours do you play this game (in a day)? Why do you get bored so easily?

 

I think it's easier for some not to get too deep into it. I myself am not that interested in medieval and fantastical themes so even though I appreciate the game and I do have fun playing I am more able to stop playing whereas my friends have a much harder time because that is their area of interest.

 

I will admit that I was pretty hooked when I first played, which was 10 years ago or so. I still enjoyed the game so it wasn't like an addiction where I couldn't stop myself from playing, I really wanted to play! I also had lots of IRL friends in my guild so we would play together, from our own places or they would come play at my house. And, I feel silly even saying this, but I played so much that my brain started almost short-circuiting in real life and I would find myself thinking "autorun" or saying "AFK" instead or "Be right back". It was embarrassing me at work so I would say that it had a negative impact on my life. Overall though, I don't have bad memories and I would still play in my free time if I had any and had a good vanilla server.

 

I was for a time, definitely. Think I even went back to it after a while, but fortunately, wow pretty much immunized me to every other mmo, there's lots out there that I could be playing but I know how it goes & don't want to invest my life into it

 

Not as much as I used to be but I will still find myself playing 5-6 hours at a time and looking over at the clock wondering where the time went.

 

Well that would seem to fit the description. I am joking of course, and I too have those games where I will toe the line a little bit. I think I am this way with Fallout 4 now, where it is the game where I stand the chance of completely forgetting appointments or something. Hasn't happened yet, but I worry.

 

Well, I used to be addicted to this game back in the days when I first started to play it with a friend of mine who was also more addicted than I was, we really had good times playing the game, but we do not play it anymore.

 

Nope. I haven't been 'addicted' to the game in years, really. The expansion packs and what not just haven't kept me all that interested. I might jump in and try out Legion soon, but I don't see myself ever getting addicted to it.

I wouldn't say that I have ever been addicted to it as such, even though in the past I have racked up many hours on the game. I've played for that many hours on a daily basis because I've enjoyed it and wanted to, rather than felt like it was something that I HAD to do, so that to me isn't an addiction.

I've also had times when I haven't played for a number of days because I haven't had the time for example, and it's not worried me and I've never felt like I NEEDED to play it...I've wanted to maybe but I've never put other more important things to one side because of it.
