    It reminds me of Dead Space Impossible mode where you have very limited amount of plasma catrages for your plasma cutter and you just pray got that when you kill a necromorph it would drop some more rounds :D If not then you are pretty screw' ed up ecpecialy if you odnt have any stasis left :_(

    My friend has a Lee Enfield 303. and some form of a Swedish Mauser so I should be set.

    Totally agree. More reliable than guns, won't jam, works if it get's wet, and doesn't require ammo. :)

    I think in the post-zombie-infested getting a gun would be as easy as breaking some glass. The alarm would make some noise, but guns are an essential tool for survival.

    Melee weapons are great, and yes firearms jam but that's if they aren't properly taken care of. Firearms allow killing from a distance, while your axes and swords require getting in close, which could possibly get you surrounded and inevitably bitten.

    Um, actually most guns would have owners. Angry owners. That aren't going to part with them any time soon. That would prefer to use their guns as leverage to rob you of your posessions.

    I just started this topic for fun, but now it isnt funny anymore...

    And i just realised that my local gun shop was closed....well atleast there is a bank not so far away. I could probably use it like a strong defence position after robbing "Maxima" (local shop) ofc.

    Thats why you get a knight's armor!:D I want to see the zed trying to bite through plate armor,
    and I don't think it will be easy to find a gun after the infestation, local gun stores will probably be the first to be looted. Seriously though, firearms are good for a while, but sooner or later you will run out of ammo, and there is probably very few ways to find new ammo. Unless of course, you use a bow or crossbow.
    And a melee weapon can be handy in more ways than just bashing in a zombies head, a fire axe is designed to be lbe to cut through steel, a crowbar is heavy enough to break a mans skull plus you can open doors with it:) and if you only have a knife, make a spear out of it! and yes, while weapons might be of good use, the best thing to know is how to move undetected.

    A bow or a crossbow is a very good idea indeed and it would be my first choice. You can make your own ammo for it, the ammo you use is often re-usable if you can go and get it back, and primarily: They are silent. If the zombies could hear and would go after sound, then a crossbow/bow would be a good idea. A crossbow with a lot of arrows + a strong katana would be my choice of weaponary.

    the only problem with bows and crossbows are that you need some skill to be able to use them at a longer range. that and a pretty low rate of fire. otherwise, they are the best choice I think.

    Personally I'd like more of a chrushing weapon than a katana, since a sword might get stuck in the zed when you hit it.

    Well, it's true that you'd need some skills. And not a very good rate of fire unless you're Legolas. But with a katana, you just need to swing hard enough and hit the throat, cut off their heads, they'd instantly die and the katana wouldn't get stuck. And if it did, I assume it'd be pretty easy to pull out if it didn't get all the way through.
