Maybe for Bitcoins yes, but there are other options out there like Litecoin and Dogecoin which are still easy to obtain and are growing quickly in value just like Bitcoin did. Since the maximum limit to how many there can be is much higher for those, they have a better chance of staying relevant. If bitcoin is digital gold, these are digital silver.

In that sense, the gold rush is indeed over for the most part, but there's still plenty of silver.

That depends on you and your setup. More powerful hardware can mine them faster than slower hardware. You can buy ASIC miner systems that are dedicated purely to the job and they are typically the fastest at it. Using your GPU is not terribly efficient and is an easy way to drastically shorten the lifespan of your card.

With a hash rate of only 34MH/s there is no point. The more bitcoins are mined the harder it becomes to get each one, and that GPU couldn't get a whole one even if you left it mining for years with the current difficulty.

You may want to try Litecoins or Dogecoins though. They are much easier to mine. Just be wary that it will kill the life of your card since it makes it run at 100% power usage the entire time.

Not worth it anymore. Everyone and their mother is mining right now. The price is just going to further drop due to this. If you had gotten into it in the early months, you would probably be really wealthy right now lol!

BitCoin has become pretty much stable now. I never understood how it works though.

By the time I had heard about it, it was far too late to get into the game.

It is also a form of virtual currency that you buy and sell to make money. But it doesn't fluctuate.

I used to mine them a couple years ago. Though nowadays the difficulty has risen so much that you cannot profit with a regular home PC. Mostly people use nowadays those high priced mining rigs to make good profits.

I buy bitcoins to make purchases at purse.io. I save a lot of money (sometimes up to 25% ) on items.

Can you earn a living mining these coins and selling them. Because I know a lot of people interested in buying BTC. Or are we talking about supplemental 100-200 bucks a month income ?

And what exactly are litecoins, dogecoins and all that other nonsense. I suppose just rival virtual currency that has not had the same success as bitcoin.

I buy bitcoins through a guy who charges me a 12% transaction fee. I am wondering if this is a bit too high .

I don't argue about it because it is less than 20 dollars in transaction every time but if I am blatantly being taken advantage of I will question him about it.

Unfortunately if you don't have a credit card, then sites like circle.om or coinbase.com are useless because although they have good rates it takes a week for them to verify the funds and get the coins to you.

I have been in this mining business but nowadays it is so hard that it isn't lucrative anymore. You would need a huge PC warehouse to make any money with it. I have mined bitcoins previously and I am kind of regretful that I didn't buy them five years ago when they were still cheap.
