    I sit awake for a little bit longer grinning and using my free arm to finish the flask before passing out. TT33 on the nightstand, loaded and racked with the hammer down.

    Pete stayed awake past Stepan and Val. He had created a small fire on the floor. He gazed deeply into the flames that danced over the burning newspaper. He did not know how much time was wasted staring into the fire, but it somehow relaxed his eyes. With the eerie stillness of the metro and the comforting warmth from the fire, Pete laid back and put his backpack underneath his head for support. With time, Pete fell into a deep sleep. The only thing that could be herd through the station was your own heartbeat and light breathing.

    I wake up before everyone else, sliding out of bed not to wake val. I put my boots on loosely and pick up my rifle. I see Pete dead asleep by a near dead fire. Smelling the dead cold air. Nothing seems odd although I feel very... Watched...

    Pete half opened his heavy eyes, on occasion, and realized someone was standing near; though, he didn't feel threatened. With enough energy built up, Pete sat up and rubbed his face. "Uh... What a comfortable floor this is..." Pete said in whisper. Although, what was a whisper was amplified to sound like the decibel of a normal voice in conversation. He fully opened his eyes now to notice Stepan mysteriously standing with no movement. Pete leaned back on both his elbows and watch for a moment. Perhaps the guy spotted something.

    Glancing around at his surrounding, Pete didn't see anything suspicious. The station was still rather dark; though, down the corridor, he could see the faint light from the radioactive morning sun peeking in from a window high above. "Nah, I don't feel anything." Pete said, as he got up and shuffled to Stepan. Almost immediate, right as he stood an arm's-length away from Stepan, Pete felt it. He felt the unwanted presence, envelop him, as it did to Stepan. "Oh, now I feel it." Pete mumbled. "How long have you been standing here like this? Has it been here long?"

    "I've been standing here for about 15 minutes... Haven't moved. Station is dead though. Wonder what it is" I look around the station, moving my body for the first time since I woke up. "What can we do?" I ask, not looking at Pete but around the station.

    "Val still had the flashlight I lent here, right? She must of put it inside the place you two slept in. Get it. I'll stand here until you come out and I'll go step off to the side and arm myself. Then, we go and have ourselves a look." Pete stared deeply into the darkness.

    I think its a bit late, sorry bro. Maybe the next one.
    As I walk into the room where Val is still sleeping, I see something move into a hole behind the bookshelf "Shit.. Pete, I saw something. Should I wake her up?" I say pointing the AK at the hole.

    "What? What do mean?" Pete backed up slowly without loosing his vision of what was in front of him. When he reached the shack where Stepan and Val were, Pete pushed the hanging curtain out of the way and took a quick glance inside. Val was out cold on the mattress and Stepan was standing with his AK pointed at a bookshelf. "I don't know man. Wake her up, but do it quietly. Chances are that it's just a big fucking rat!" Pete closed the curtain and continued to stand guard.
