Building your own new race - what would it be?

I never said it was new. I said I would like to see it implemented albeit differently in World of Warcraft.

Oh I know. Sorry didn't mean to cause any problems, lol. I just said my opinion.

I agree with Centaurs, but I think they should be Horde. Alliance side should be the Dryads. I don't really see Minotaurs being needed as Tauren are essentially the same thing. That's how I've always viewed them anyway. I would really love the Centaurs though, even if it's just two factions that split and one faction joins Horde but the other joins Alliance. They could even have slightly different appearances.

That'd be really interesting to see. I would have fun playing them but the issue would be equipping armor and stuff which would be a big issue for Blizzard to make that a reality haha. Then there's the question of mounts and travel as well. Unless they're like mutant variants of the original centaurs/dryads.

I'm trying to imagine a centaur riding a dragon. It's sort of an amusing visualization. However, they could be kind of like druids in that they get a flying form, and their upgraded speeds could just increase their run speed. Of course, they should still be able to use things like the flying carpets as all you do is stand on those.

The armor would, certainly, be a difficult thing. If blizzard tried it I think that they would have to mostly rely on warpaints and such for them. It's not something that I think they will every actually do, but I would love to see them in game. Honestly, I would love to see them as a playable race in any game. I don't know of any MMO that has allowed you to play a centaur.

That would be fun, but I don't know if after a while it would take the fun of the game away.

How would it take the fun of the game away to add another race? I'm honestly curious what your viewpoint on that is. I don't see it taking away from the game, I just see it adding to it. Having options is a great thing in my opinion.

I didn't specify sorry. I meant a race that can fly, I don't think the fun would last. I know a lot of MMORPG's that implemented that, the view and scenery just get boring and the standard gets even higher to the point you cannot even find the game fun.

There's already flying in World of Warcraft, though. So how would letting the centaurs fly on their own since they can't really ride the flying mounts change anything? In some games I could see that being the case, but not for WoW. If it were already going to be boring due to flying, then it reached that point after Burning Crusade when it was first introduced.

I can completely understand what you are saying in games that don't already include flying. It could be game breaking, or screw up how fun the game is for a lot of people. Though, I love flying in WoW and collecting mounts, both ground and flying.

I said this before. adding a new race takes a huge amount of artwork, and honestly, most of the time you would end up just staring at it´s butt anyway. And when they add a new race.. what do you do? play through a new zone for a few hours, and then spend the next 100 hours playing through old content doing the same quests. And seriously, after the first few hours, you really stop looking at yourself.. you become blind to it.

A better option would be a bunch more items that allow us to change shapes for longer amounts of time, or ´until cancelled´. it would be cool to play as a centaur.. but not be a centaur. But even that requires a ton of artwork to handle all the combat animations.

I don't really ever become blind to my characters. Any character I create is part of a story, though, and I interact with them in character with other players. As a result, I spend a lot of time staring at my character while trying to figure out what type of clothing they would wear, and taking a ridiculous number of screenshots in various RP events that wouldn't make sense to anyone except for those that are involved.

I can understand where you are coming from in a non-role player viewpoint, though. If not for the fact that most games that do add new races do so with the addition of an entire expansion that also adds new items to the game. Many of the items that are added are for lowbies and themed for the races that were added to the game. Most of the items are for the higher level characters, granted, but it fits what both groups of people want.

WoW has sort of a cycle. The past expansion, for example, didn't have any new races. Only new content and items. I could see them continuing that and the next expansion will probably include at least one new race, maybe two if they continue the way that they have been. We'll just have to wait and see how that turns out.

3rd faction all together. Burning Legion demon races would make for most of the compilation. Humanoid races that is, sorry but it just wouldn't make much lore sense to have a bunch of Pit Lords running around, not to mention the lack of diversity xD. Nathrezim (Dread Lords) or maybe Tothrezim (distant cousin) much open debate would be in place to find which makes more sense of course, Man'ari (Burning Legion corrupted Eredar/male and female of course), Shivarra (Six armed female demons), Felguard/Mo'arg, Satyr, and Naga. And of course... a new class would be in the works . Though I still have to polish and fully wrap my mind around the ideas and possibilities for it to function and work, and not be LITERALLY broken. I mean come on.. lol you can't have an Archimonde just walking around opening Dark Gates everywhere he sees fit now can you? XD

Lore wise to make it all sound..

After the Cataclysm event where Deathwing was stopped and put to an end, after Pandaria was discovered and the evil Sha were put to an end, and Garrosh Hellscream's plans to overtake the Horde, were foiled, even now during the major crisis with the alternate dimensional Dark Portal opening and Grom Hellscream leading the Iron Horde into Azeroth. All has been quiet in Outland for some time. The Burning Legion had laid in ruin for some time now. Stirring in the quiet, among the dust, a new Eredar leader has taken power and began to reform the ranks and begin the foundation of the ground base for a new Burning Legion. One still of war and domination, but with a slightly different approach and outlook on things. The ranks of this new Burning Legion are being bolstered with prominent masters of combat skills, trades, and magical schools.

A third faction would be a good idea for WoW, and add another level to the PvP within the game. I feel like 2 faction PvP becomes bland after a while. 3 faction is always interesting.

Yes. I also think that repetition is not always a good method, if it can vary it would be great.
