    Well we are in essence rangers and Stalkers and even in the game they had the best shit to be found anywhere in the metro.

    Odessa doesn't have any special armor, she just runs around with home made old armor and tactical vest. as for her L85 and SigPro, she had the pistol from before the war, given to her by an old friend in the Zone (she was a Stalker there) and had it on her when the nukes fell, and the L85, she found it in the statanist lair. her Spas 12 was found right after the nukes, abandoned in a metro station's hall. all of her other gear, except for the artefacts she carries, are from the metro.

    I'll put this up for review/discussion, because I've been catching up on reading the RP and I suspect the character I have in mind can make an entrance.

    However, note that this character sheet is a temporary one, I plan to kill him off before bringing in someone else. Don't get too attached to him.

    Name/Alias: The Farmer

    Real name: 'Dolgov' - surname written on nametag

    Gender: Male

    Age: early 30s

    Hair/eyes/skin: Blonde/blue/fair

    Height/Build: Muscular, about 5"10

    Clothing and equipment: Torn and filthy Fourth Reich uniform with 'Dolgov' nametag, cargo pants, backpack and vest containing, for some strange reason, heaps and heaps and heaps of jars and small containers. Has gas mask, spare filters and a few dead rats to eat.

    Armor: !None!

    Weapons: !!None!!

    MGA: !!!None!!!

    Faction: ?

    Background: The first thing anyone notices about Dolgov is his completely blank stare and total lack of speech. Although he is seemingly healthy and physically fit, he is literally a living zombie.


    At some point in the distant past, Dolgov was a Fourth Reich soldier that fell into a flooded sewer during a battle and drowned. Somehow, he was then pulled out and revived, but his brain had been deprived of oxygen for too long, leaving him in a vegetative state. And yet he is walking around, eating, breathing, and toileting himself. On the surface, he will change his gas mask filter regularly. That's about all. Although it is plausible that someone who used to know him from the Reich might recognise him, Dolgov will completely ignore any attempt at communication.

    Often, he digs holes with his bare hands to scavenge for unknown treasures, which he puts in his jars. Sometimes he seems to dig holes for no reason other than to disturb the soil. If threatened by mutants or other humans, Dolgov just bolts away, runs and hides. He's a fast and agile runner at least, but never fights back. As he has no armor, weapons or heavy equipment, he can quickly outrun most enemies. His motives and needs are so simple, its like he is a robot under someone's control.

    He is usually seen alone and may follow a group for mysterious reasons of his own, only to disappear discreetly later, presumably having fulfilled his mission.

    He is never hostile and tolerant of being used as a pack mule, but any attempt to harm him or his precious jars sends him running. He will stand and stare emotionlessly if yelled at and does not seem to care if pushed or jostled. It is obvious from a distance that even through the Nazi rags, 'the lights are on but nobody's home', and he is easily recogniseable as not being a threat. Closeup, his movements are plodding and deliberate, but sometimes awkward or not really socially polite, he may fart suddenly or drool for some time after eating a rat.

    Lone Stalkers who encounter him have nicknamed him 'the Farmer' because of his endless digging and tilling of the soil.

    Personality: a very good (it not cold) person at heart as well as funny, but suffers from OCD (for example dirty and MGRs are carefully sorted by mag color)+ rather intelligent with a photographic memory. Has a disdain for the Nazis and Reds, and a soft spot for orphans and Hansa citizens. Also a rather depressed person (but believes that he is needed and is not at the point of debating suicide).

    Early Life:
    Iakova was born in 2017 to a rich Hansa (an ex-FSB operative) stalker and his wife in Revolution Square.

    Hansa-Red Line War:
    Iakova was only 4 when the Hansa-Red Line War began. Because of his wealth, Iakova's father was initially spared of the draft, but when the stalemate began at the Lenin Mausoleum his father was recruited because of his knowledge of the surface. Three days later, he was reported K.I.A. when a group of Red volunteers strapped grenades to themselves and rushed the fortification where he was stationed. Life for Iakova, now age 10, got worse when the battle of Revolution Square began. When his mother could not afford to send him to another station (his father's remaining funds were spent on survival and skyrocketing taxes), Iakova was told to "Step into your father's shoes" and become a stalker.

    Stalking:
    Iakova, though worried and frightened, began leaning from his father's old notes and various maps what the most interesting (and profitable) locations of the surface were. His home was a tank that had been suppressing riots hours before the bombs fell, as it's CBRN capabilities protected him from the radiation outside. His most favorite location was the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, where he learned about the war that "Made this current war look like a cat-fight", as well as finding new technologies that could be made in the Metro. Most notably were artificial fuel, simpler rubber, and (his favorite) a lightweight rocket launcher that could be easily made in the Metro. However, he did not spend more than 3 hours at a time there, because of strange phenomena, battlefield sounds even though he was many miles from any conflict in the Metro.

    Return to Hansa and the Rangers:
    After a year, Iakova returned to the Metro in search of his mother, who was killed loading ammunition for a Hansa DShKM during the final Red charge of the station. Discouraged, he moved on to find more peaceful parts of the Metro. It was here, in a tunnel leading to Oktyabr'skaya, where he met a lost Ulman, about to be executed by a squad of bandits. After killing the bandits with his Kalash and his custom weapon, the Tovarich, he offered to bring Ulman to Polis in exchange for becoming a citizen there. Ulman agreed, and, intrigued by Iakova's skill in fighting and his knowledge of the frozen surface, later pitched in a good word to Miller (who had actually known Iakova's father) to ask Iakova to join the Rangers.

    Rangers and D6:
    Upon being accepted into the Rangers, Iakova sought out to get a thank you gift for everyone of the then-small group of Rangers. Ranging from a (hilariously bad) joke book for Ulman to Vasili Zaietsev's sniper rifle for Anna, Iakova was soon sent to scout the surface with Hunter and another Ranger, Red. Being a Ranger, he had various perks for life in Polis. His favorite is a room to himself, complete with his own,fully functioning, bathroom. Upon hearing the declaration of war between Reich and the Red Line (to which he was not surprised at all about, given his knowledge of the Great Patriotic War), he was tasked with renovating a base on the surface, Sparta Base. It was here that he met an old philosopher, who frequented the old chuch. After discussing life, the state of humanity, as well as the phenomena that inhabited the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, the man told him to, "Think before you make a life-altering decision, whether it be yours or someone else's." With a new crisis occurring at VDNKh, he decided to have a neutral take on the matter, staying post at Sparta Base. When Miller decided to eliminate the Dark Ones at Polis, Iakova had a heated argument with Miller. Miller ordered him to stay "one step behind us" and shortly after the six Rangers departed for D6, Iakova departed for Sparta Base, and later D6 to protect Vladimir. Changed by the destruction of the Dark Ones, Iakova now stands watch at Sparta Base. He makes periodical stops to the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, to relive the only time he can remember being happy in his life.

    Anyway you want basically, you can be escorting a caravan that got attacked and you were the only survivor or just stumble upon the group some where. The group is pretty large now so you might want wait for the group to head to a station first and you should read the rules before jumping in if you haven't.

    Abilities:

    As a Dark One, the Forester has a formidable array of physical and psychic abilities. They are described along with how they would be roleplayed.

    Invisible running - When running, the Forester is invisible. Walking, stopping or doing something else causes him to shimmer into visibility.

    Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) - Friendlies appear green, neutrals appear yellow, hostiles appear red, deceased and inanimate objects appear blue. He can tell another being's attitude towards Dark Ones without interacting with them, even in the dark or on the other side of walls and buildings.

    Hallucination - Can make a single person see a very convincing illusion. A common example of this in the game is to make a hostile target's ally look like an enemy, causing them to fight each other. A neutral or friendly target can be gently shown visions or dreams as a form of visual communication. For player characters, this would need prior arrangement of course.

    In practicality, the Forester would rarely resort to friendly interaction with characters as he is cynical and suspicious about being backstabbed. As he can only concentrate on one target at a time, it leaves him open to attack.

    Telepathy - the Forester can speak directly into the mind of a friendly and receptive person and receive mental replies in return, surpassing any language barrier. Again, this leaves him open to attack, and he is extremely distrustful so this is rare.

    Mind Control - Given enough time, the Forester can subtly influence a living, conscious person to perform an act that is not seen as self-destructive or immoral to that person, such as increasing the likelihood that they will choose to follow a convoy instead of staying home. Anything more drastic or overt takes too much effort, is too obvious, and would be easily met with mental resistance. (again, this needs prior arrangement with player characters)

    However it means that he can control 'mindless' characters who are insane or comatose as there is no consciousness to resist him. This is how he could use Dolgov's body like a puppet. Of course, his abilities are affected by the puppet's physical limitations and his lack of understanding of vocal speech etc.

    Mutation - Being a Dark One, the Forester breathes and travels freely on the surface. He is immune to the effects of radiation and harsh weather. The air underground in Metro locations is stuffy and stifling to breathe, but still does not really stop him.

    He can live indefinitely on mutant plants and animals, as well as polluted water.

    Ghosts and other supernatural phenomena can be sensed by him, but also cannot harm him.

    Background: Tell me why I should have faith in the older brothers. I live because I was away planting food for them when they killed my kind.

    For that, I could become the embodiment of predatory vengeance with a clear conscience. Crush their fragile brains into liquid insanity, flood their blinkered senses with the colours of sounds and the sounds of smells; turn them into mindless whimpering beasts terror-pissing in their holes...But the twisted irony is that with the rest of my kin obliterated, the older brothers are all humanity has left, and thus I am still bound to ensure their survival.

    Our survival.

    I used the shell of a fallen older brother they named 'Dolgov' to fetch more seeds and to watch them, but it was frail and soon destroyed. For a while I was a part of their world and it was both sickening and enlightening. Not sure if I want to repeat that, for now I have to retrieve the seeds it dropped.

    Maybe next time I will use a lurker's shell. They dig a lot faster. I will continue planting the food the older brothers eat, timber they build with, and the air they can breathe. I don't have to like it, and they don't have to thank me. It is better this way. I hope they grow to want peace as much as I do.

    could you have a foreigner who isn't American because Moscow is pretty big and there would be at least one european or some such in the city and also, my russian name would be terrible and probably stereotypical

    i would assume so there would be embassy staff buisness men and the sort in the metro, but do rerember lore wise if i have read it right the world was in turmoil at the time

    Eyes: A strange white shade. A mixture of white and grey that almost seems to glow... Do they make me a monster?...

    Physical features: 6' 1" average muscular build, torn and gashed flesh. Ghostly pale skin. And a badly broken heart.

    Clothing: Flora camouflage pants, black leather jacket, old army boots. Everything is shreded and absolutely covered in dust kicked up by the big boom.

    Armor: A 6B23 ballistic vest, with the chest plate and inner Kevlar blown in and compromised...

    Equipment: I sense I won't need it anymore.

    Weapons: My CZ75's all I got left on me. It's useless now...


    Backstory: I think I took it to far this time. I pulled the pin. Was that a mistake? Probably. Either way, it's done now.

    All I can say is that I woke up today, feeling oh so strange, in every single way...


    Anyone who knows where that last line comes from is champion!
