I totally think Fallout 4 is reason enough to upgrade your console. I am considering getting a new console myself just so I can get the Fallout 4. I do not like playing games on my PC. I grew up in the 80s and need to have some sort of hand held controller.

I'm going to have to play it on PS4 just because that's the hardware I've invested in, lol. Not that the game will be a slouch on the system, of course. Looks pretty damn awesome any way you're going to get to play it. I think it's dumb how divided people can be when it comes to gaming hardware. Like, when I was a kid we had flame wars over Nintendo versus Sega, and they were basically the same consoles, lol. Honestly, I think the competition Sony and Microsoft are getting from the PC market is going to improve their products and most likely prompt them to launch new hardware at a faster rate. Competition is good in the free market system, you know what I mean? :)

I`m totally sure that the PC version of the game will be far superior to the console versions. And I`m also sure that modders will soon pump out HD graphics mods, which will make the game look even more incredible.

I don't think you have to worry. Bethesda knows that the bulk of their passionate community plays on the PC. They wouldn't be stupid enough to poorly port the game. They made a few errors in the past (like keeping the abysmal console-friendly UI in Skyrim on the PC) but I don't think they will do anything major.

I own a PS4, I played fallout New Vegas on PS3 and PC, and Skyrim in Xbox 360 and PC and I can tell you from experience that Bethesda games run way better on PC, but I'm just as undecided as you, I'm actually planning on buying the game for both platforms lol, my brother usually plays on the PS4, so I know it won't be a waste of money. But again, from previous experience, I think I'm sticking to PC on this one!

PC is the only way to play Bethesda games. The ability to add user mods on consoles changes nothing in this matter. There is no console out there that could handle the load.

Even after 5 years, Skyrim with over 200 graphic mods will bring the strongest gaming rigs out there to a crawl, with double GPU's worth couple of thousand of dollars. It does look spectacular though, photo-realistic even.

The same will be true for Fallout 4.

What I did for Fallout 3 wa originally play it on my 360, and when the GOTY edition came out a few years later (and I had a better PC) I bought the game again, so I could play all the DLC. I do not own a PS4 yet, but am saving for one so I can play FO4 and MGS5, primarily.

In the end, the PC version is going to be a better looking, more optimized game. Although I loved playing Fallout: New Vegas on my PS3, the hardware disparity between the new generation of consoles and modern PCs is too much for me to justify the cost of the game on a console. Luckily, Bethesda cares about PC users and has a better track record than other Triple A developers for PC ports, so the game should run well.

They better do, since The Elder Scrolls and Fallout both originated on the PC. They owe it to their fans to deliver a top notch PC experience, not like what happened to, say, Batman: Arkham Knight, which was a total disaster.

Every time I've played a Bethesda game on consoles I always had problems. Bugs, broken quests, event switches that don't activate and so on. There's an entire DLC in New Vegas that you have a high chance of not being able to finish on consoles because one of the NPC's dialogue can break easily. At least on PC there are people who have modded the game so things like these I listed don't happen. Also you can transform your game in a much better looking game with mods. I think PC is the way to play these games if you have the opportunity.

I more or less agree with this. The reason Bethesda games often have so much lasting appeal is because they attract such a large modding community. I'm sure part of the reason is to fix the bugs in the games in the first place - I haven't met a Bethesda bug yet that has broken a game, but I'll be danged if they aren't silly - and, y'know, while the modders are there, they might as well spruce things up with new content. Skyrim is absolutely lousy with modded stuff, and no doubt that's responsible for it still being so popular. Here's hoping the same happens with Fallout 4.

I am definitely going to get this on PC. Even though mods are supposed to be available on consoles, I think it will be more fun and easy to browse through options on my computer. I am trying to save up for a new gaming PC so I can enjoy Fallout 4 without having to downgrade the quality.

I think you can get something at least decent for ~500$ that'll play Fallout 4 on medium, if you choose something around the 800$ range you'll be able to play on high.

In my opinion, if you can choose always go for the computer version. You can always modify it with mods and all that. Upgrades are usually easier to handle too.

Definitely console. I just think it's a much more fun and natural gaming experience on console.

I'm getting Fallout 4 for PC and for PS4. Both my fiance and I are planning on playing it a lot, and we would rather not have to take turns. ;) But I really want to upgrade my gaming PC before this comes out. I want to get a new video card, but I think I will have to wait on that for awhile and just play on the highest setting I'm able.

I think for Fallout 4 I would go with a console, preferably the Xbox One. Along with Halo 5 coming out next month and backward compatibility being added in as well, I think this is the perfect opportunity to upgrade my console. Of course I might get the PC version as well for the sake of mods, if I have the extra money; but if I had to choose I would probably go with a console.

I'll be playing it on PC, and I think that it is definately better on the PC platform. The PC platform has quicksaving, mods and will probably run better. I love the quicksaving mechanic, it's not like I abuse it, it's just so annoying to die out in the wasteland and then realise you didn't save and your last auto save was ages away. PC you can just press a button every now and then rater than going back to your menu.

PC, no doubt about it. I build my PC specifically for The Witcher 3 but I'm sure it'll able to run Fallout 4 as well, from the media released thus far it doesn't look like it's going to be heavier than CDPRs game anyway. I might even play around a little with the creation kit, depending on how difficult it is to master (for example, Oblivion's kit was easy whilst Skyrim's kit is considerably more difficult). Hopefully they keep user friendliness in mind.

I don't understand building a PC around a specific game, I sort of just made mine, upgraded it once, and now it runs all games. If it can't I turn the settings down, I can deal with lower settings. I got a i7 3770 and a GTX 960 so I'm good.
