    In other news, Watch_Dogs is still completely unoptimized and plays terribly. Ubisoft is really trying pretty hard to compete with EA in terms of being absolute shit.

    The "secret" is that Watch_Dogs runs very well on Nvidia cards, but you probably know that already. Lucky as I am, I bought a brand new Nvidia card very cheap from a friend of mine, so Watch_Dogs runs very well, with actually no problem at all. I have a decent PC, but it's definitely not one of the best ones. I haven't really invested that much in it.
    But yes, I agree, Ubisoft is really nearing EA-level, especially on this one..

    The "secret" is that the game runs poorly on Nvidia cards and unjustifiably terribly on AMD/ATI cards. I have an Nvidia-powered system that can max out Crysis 3, but anything above medium/high settings in WD is a stuttery mess. TheWorse's mod at least fixes the VRAM issue, but now I get large framerate drops thanks to headlights casting shadows on everything. The only way to get a decently consistent 60 FPS at 1080p is to put the game on medium or lower settings.

    I was thinking it was my CPU, but I gave it a substantial, stable overclock (up to 4.4 GHz), and Ubisoft themselves recommended an 8350 for the game, so I imagine it's decently threaded (especially since they already had to octo-thread it in an X86 build for the consoles), and my CPU isn't maxed out. I've tried so many different things, but this game is literally worse than 2033 in terms of optimization. We'll see if Ubisoft ever actually gets around to patching the game, but I'm not holding my breath at this point, since the only real thing they've accomplished with patches so far is removing the hidden E3 settings. Even Battlefield 4 ran better on a single card for me on Ultra than Watch_Dogs does with two cards.

    I suppose you're right. I haven't tried at high settings yet. In fact, I haven't altered any graphics settings or any other settings at all. But I will try now, and it'll most likely fail if it fails on a PC of your level. I've only got 2.8 GHz, so...

    I heard rumors that when Ubisoft delayed the game to "Polish it", they actually intentionally de-optimized the game and made the graphics worse, because they didn't want PC to stand out so much compared with consoles, because they wanted to make money by selling console versions too. I don't know, though. Just something I've heard.

    Maybe, though the console versions aren't exactly well optimized either; the PS4 can run Tomb Raider at 1080/60 at the equivalent of Very High settings, yet WD has to run at 900/30 looking like it does? It just seems like the ball got dropped big time somewhere along the way, and Ubisoft just tried to cover it up. It is pretty obvious that certain features were cut along the way though for PC.

    I know, I know, but before I could win an 8 player free for all on hard by turning my base into a fortress with triple walls but now I can't even reach the castle age before they've rushed me. Also, I'm finally getting a proper computer so my steam account will finally be used!!!!
