Yeh, that's the movie that started it all. You should watch that movie before beginning on the series; Stargate SG-1 is based on that movie, or well, are a continuation and expansion of the movie. With TEN seasons, you can imagine it was successful. Dr. Sheldon Cooper has watched Stargate ;)

I remember piggymoo.com had all Stargate-material available for streaming, but I think they've been closed down. You really should give it a try, It's my #1 top favorite franchise of all TV series I've ever watched. They've got some good actors like Richard Dean Anderson in SG-1 (MacGyver) and Jason Momoa in SGA (Conan The Barbarian, Khal Drogo in Game Of Thrones etc).
You can imagine why Ronon Dex is on my top list of favorite characters of all time; Medieval-appearance, wields a sword in sci-fi and last but not least, has dreadlocks.

Sheldon....Sheldon Carter.....(shotgun noise)Chkkk Chkkk. <never mind that. It's just part of a stupid joke that my friend and I made up over the course of many stupid stories and years, having nothing to do with Dr. Sheldon Cooper. I don't even know why I've mentioned it.

Cool. I had thought that the movie was based off of the show! So I guess I could say I have watched the first episode, after all :p
And I had always wondered who that guy was when you had him as your Avatar. How'd you get into liking dreadlocks, anyway?

Well, believe it or not, but Stargate is actually the main reason I started liking Dreadlocks; I first watched SG-1 where there's this guy named Skaara (he's in the movie too), who had dreadlocks, and I just.... I don't know, I just liked it. Thought it looked cool. Then when I started watching Stargate Atlantis, I saw Ronon Dex and was like GHAEGASEGAEKOGWRHKGH. He's really one of the most badass characters ever, with some of the best looking dreadlocks I've ever seen. And then the interest grew :p

I just had random thoughts about what should or should not buy in this year last night at work. I have 2 games which I interested in, one of them is already on market, one of them will be soon.
The first is the Dragon Age: Inquisition. To be honest, I was not that big fan of the Origins, I don't even remember that I finished it or not. It is funny, because my reason of interest is not for the game mainly but because of the Warhammer 40.000 similarities. I am parying for an RPG in that world sooo long ago, play as an Imperial Inquisitor and stuff like that. And yet there is none game like this but just this one. I fear that I would bore it eventually.
The second one is the Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes. Well, I know, this is a demo which sold as a prologue. But hell, I love it! The Phantom Pain is my second most wanted game in 2015 and I want to show Kojima that the PC users are deserving more MGS episodes to this gaming platform. I know that it cannot be compared to the DAI in terms of content, but... I will buy this for sure even if it have way way lesser playtime.
After this I really need to stop buying anything, because I need to save up for The Witcher 3 Collectors Edition.

Dragon Age Inquisition does look cool, but I've got my hands full in coming months with The Witcher 3, and I'll also be getting Dying Light which comes out January 31. I'm really looking forward to it! :D

Well, now that the game has been delayed further until May of 2015, I guess you will have a bit more time. :p

I don't remember the Skaara character, Skaara :p. I watched it when I was fairly young and hardly remember the plot. I just remember having liked the movie a lot. But that's cool. I think everybody should have a little, yet uncommon, obsession over something. Like you with dreadlocks and me with hobos ;).

I'm not sure if you're into the horror genre of gaming, but Hideo Kojima is teaming up with Guillermo del Toro -a Mexican film director- to make a new chapter in the "Silent Hill" games called "Silent Hills." A demo of it was released by the name of P.T., which stand for "Playable Teaser." It's exclusive to the PS4 -unfortunately- but I'm sure you could find a port of it, somewhere, for the PC (it might be a bit unsettling). The demo takes place in the hallway of a two story house, and all you do is walk around through it and try to find anything out of it's original place. When you find the "out of place thing," a door at the end of the hallway opens up and you get to walk through it -only to end up in the same hallway way you were in earlier. It repeats like that, for I don't know how long, but things get scarier as you progress; and the game is pretty random. It's one of those games that might not look scary while watching somebody else playing it, but I'm sure if you played it, alone, in the dark, you'd shit yourself! :D
I hope it comes for PC.

    Well, yeah...:D

Well, I am not really, sometimes even the Metro games a bit much for my nerves. I can watch horror movies all day, but play? That's a different matter. I know about that, and I watched both AngryJoe and Piewdepie's playthrough :D. It was scary as sh*t. I think it will come to PC as well, because Kojima planned the Fox Engine to be multiplatform. The MGS V Ground Zeroes will good chance to try out how runs and such on PC. As I watched the MGS V system reqs, well it is is pretty low if you ask me and the game is looks beautyfull.

Yeah, I was amazed at how great the Fox Engine looks. Though, I'm not very fond of the name because I just think of "Fox News" every time I hear/read it :p. And though, I've never played a MGS game, I had always been drawn to the series for some reason; so I hope this one turns out to be a good so I could, one day, play it.

Personally I've never played a single MGS game, but my brother has most if not all of them (including the older Metal Gear titles). When we were younger, it was common for one of us to play a singleplayer game and the other watched quite a bit of it (if it was story-heavy). That's what happened with MGS, so I'm really digging Snake's story. From everything I've seen, I can say that the MGS series have a really awesome plot - though it does get complicated a bit and at times it ceases to make sense. Still, it's quite engrossing and the characters are brilliant. There is also plenty of humour in there.

The gameplay always seemed nice, but it was pretty clunky until Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots came out and built upon the camera and mechanics that were first seen in the re-release of MGS3. The newest one looks even more polished in that aspect. Moreover, MGS2 and MGS4 were some of the most beautiful games at the time of their releases. For its time, Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain doesn't look as groundbreaking as 2 and 4 looked back then, but it still looks amazing - especially for an open world game.

Anyway, that's just some of my thoughts about the series. Ground Zeroes doesn't look like it's worth it from a content point of view (though I heard it does have a lot of replay value, so I may be wrong), but it must still be a treat for any fan of the series. Phantom Pain is shaping up to be marvellous. :D

Humors indeed, I think. I saw once, in a game magazine, where they were talking about one of the older MGS. It was a part where Snake is being interrogated by a woman, and if you press one of the buttons (the one that put you into first person) the camera angle is set to make it seem as if Snake in not paying attention to what the lady is saying and just staring at her breasts.
Yeah, I remember how fantastic Metal Gear 4 looked when it came out. I've never actually seen any gameplay, except during television commercials advertising the game, but I just remember that was the "big thing" that came out that year -especially since the playstaion 3 was fairly new and everyone needed to get the PS3 with MGS. I remember thinking it looked so cool and being disapointed, at the same time, since it wasn't for the PC. There was always emulators available, though.
And I know a recent MGS tile for the PC was MGS:Revengeance, and it got fairly good reviews.

I've had a couple of ideas for some games I've been wanting to make using the Duke Nukem 3D engine (Build Engine); and now, since Christmas break is right around the corner, I will have some spare time to try and learn the works of level design, etc. I've already thought of the titles for the games (mods) I want to make. They are: Assault on Kremlin, Templar's Doom, and Post-Zero.

Assault on Kremlin will be set in Russia with an almost Duke Nukem character named Artem. No, not the Metro 2033 Artyom, but the Artem that I knew from high school. I never really talked to him, but my friends and I made a back story of him where he was in correlation with the Russian Mob and that his great great grandfather was Joseph Stalin. Anyway, the story is (for the game) that Artem's uncle (we'll just say Putin at the moment since I haven't thought of a name) was suppose to be Russia's new leader once his older brother (Big Papa, or Artem's father) died. Anyway, Putin is shoved one slot down from holding the thrown when Big Papa has a child named Artem. Big Papa dies and now little Artem is left to rule Russia and the Russian Mob. Putin fakes a smile and says that he's happy for his nephew's ranking. Then, when Artem gets older, Putin's jealousy gets out of control and decides to raid the Kremlin and tries to kill and take over Artem's spot. Artem retaliates and seeks to kill his evil uncle (remember, it's not Putin, I'm just using the name Putin for now). I've only thought of two one-liners that I'd like to have in the game, such as when Artem blows someone away with a shotgun. They are: "Welcome to Russia!" and "Privyet, asshole!" I don't know. It's something I think would be a fun thing to make (mostly for myself) but I'd like to release it for everyone to play one day. I hope it's not offensive.

Templar's Doom would just be a horror one. I don't know how good it would work with outdated graphics, but I'd like to see how it turns out. I have a small background story for it, but it's kind of ehh.

Post-Zero will be a post apocalyptic one. I named it Post-Zero as to mean after zero or defcon zero, if that makes sence. In other words, after Defcon 1, which already means nuclear war. I don't have a story for this one, but I just think the name is cool. I don't know how long this will take (some people say it takes about a year to really master the Build Engine) but I plan to stick to it until I finish these "games." I'd also wanted to make a tribute to Metro 2033, but with Duke Nukem 3D graphics, but I'm not sure yet.

I still need to go back and finish MGS3, I was playing through the HD pack on 360 when Destiny dropped.

And the game has a button for cutscenes, where at some points you can push it to go into Snake's first person view (i.e. if he's looking through binoculars or something) for a second perspective. At numerous points, you can find that he's simply staring at some chick's tits.

Also, for horror stuff, I'm quite the opposite. I do enjoy spooky games, especially survival horror, where I feel like I can still fight back and feel rewarded for beating such an incredibly daunting enemy. With horror movies, it's just an hour or two of waiting for inevitable jump scares. I hate it.

I also heard Ground Zeroes is pretty light on content for the price; I've heard some people say it's got a lot more to do than a lot of people give it credit for, but I'll still likely wait for a sale or something to nab it. And the Fox engine has always been amazing; developers say 60 FPS doesn't sell games, and then MGS wins awards for best-looking games on respective platforms while hitting the target every time.

Also, "I hope it's not offensive" is a pretty funny thing to say about something being developed for DooM.

Yesssss, is most certainly is. Okay, yes, it will be offensive. Lots and lots of gore shootouts, fast paced action, and crude humor. More games need this. You see right through my lies, Potarto!

I have changed my plans. The past few days I watched a tons of videos about the PS Vita. I have found a pretty good deal for it, it is used, but in new shape with lots of things. I need to rent some money from my father but I would buy it if the seller able to keep it for a while, because next week I won't be able to money transfer. My credit card have not enought money for that, and I would need to go to the bank to do it, but when I finish the work they will be closed already. I want it because I could play MGS3 and Peace Walker on it perfectly. I still hoping a PC HD collection, but I don't think that it will happens at all.
To be honest, I played the MGS3 when it was came out, but I was like 14 years old, so I would never understand the story, and the camera was horrible. For now, it is a normal TPS view.
If I won't be able to buy the PS Vita, I will save up for that later, and I want to buy this artbook:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/291197184379?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Also want to pick up this later:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/281524869440?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I have re-watched recently The Phantom Pain's TGS 30 minutes demo, and I still surprised how beautyfull that game, and how well run. I can't wait to test out the Ground Zeroes which I going to buy next week.
