I started the physical portion of fire fighter training today. As it was very simple, I lacked quite a lot of stamina in the running section. We had to run 1.5 miles (about 2.4 kilometers), in any given amount of time, and should get faster each time we do it. Well, I managed to do it in 15-minutes; and I guess that's not too bad considering the last time I ran, which was 1 mile (1.6km), was over three years ago. Hmm, well, I do hope I get better.

Thanks! It's fun so far. We haven't set anything ablaze yet (I think I'm still to much of a newb to get to practice while wearing gear and wielding a firehouse). Right now we're just doing physical tests and some academic learning stuff. I should be done, with all my training, in one year.

@Stalker: The reason I got my name color changed was because I found a temporary fault in the forum's security where it allowed me to have "The Powa!" for a few days. Literally anyone was capable of accessing "The Powa!" if they searched, the forum, thoroughly enough. I alerted Aaron, Komodo, and Skaara on my finding and, as a result, I was awarded with a name color change. I was stripped from "The Powa!" but I'm still happy with it .

As you can all see, I flooded the "Video Games" section of the forum with E3 news. Personally I'm not a fan of the event itself, it's just a place where journalists get to play various upcoming games whilst everyone else has to settle for the cringeworthy presentations with countless unfunny jokes, company owners acting as if they are our best friends and generally a ton of awkward situations. At least it's funny to watch when something goes wrong. But the upside is that some interesting games are usually revealed. This year wasn't that bad at all from that aspect. I didn't watch most of the conferences, just some summaries of what they showed, however in terms of what was presented Sony seemed to have the best lineup of the more interesting titles. The others had some nice things too though.

So I made plenty of new posts about the games that I'm excited to learn more about, but there are many other big announcements that I'm sure some of us here will want to talk about (Halo 5, Gears of War 4, Shenmue 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Batman: Arkham Knight - to name a few). Hopefully this might revitalise the forum for a bit. We'll see. If not, then... oh well, there are many worse ways of wasting time than spending it on this forum.

O__O That....Is....A lot....Of...Game threads.

 

GTA V has gotten into a "Validation Loop" every time there's an update. In other words, it needs to validate files after every time it downloads some files, but the validation always restarts once it's completed, so it never ends, and never lets me start the game. To begin with, I just fixed this by reinstalling steam (without uninstalling the games), and that helped. Now, with the newest "w33kend 1337 upd8 4 extra money cash reward t-shirt swag yolo stuff" update, that fix doesn't work anymore.

I tried everything else I could find on the internets until I decided to first move the game-files to a secure location before uninstalling the game. I then placed the files back and reinstalled it, like people online have told me to do. Only thing is, I managed to move the wrong files. :'( Unlike EVERY OTHER GODDAMN GAME IN STEAM, GTA V of course has to be in its own special unique exclusive "Rockstar games" folder, and that's what I failed to realize before it was too late. Now I've lost my saved game, but luckily I had managed to complete the main story. Still though, there were money and items I unlocked that I'd like to use, cars I'd customized and put in my garage, side-quests I had unlocked that I wanted to explore and complete etc. etc.

As if that's not bad enough in itself, I've calculated how long it'll take to download the game all over: about 30 hours or more -_-

So, I guess, I might as well reinstall Windows and get a fresh, clean and quick OS before reinstalling it again, like I actually had intended to do before the first time I installed it in the first place.
