On second thought, it's not funny at all, because they probably nicked them off someone else. hwell: Although I guess some of them are people sad enough to advertise like that, so if any of them are gamers then they probably add their profiles to make their accounts look more legit (doesn't really help though when the "About Me" page is still full of links and nonsensical info).

A YouTube video I made over 5 years ago (that has gotten over 1 000 000 views) has just been blocked worldwide due to a copyright strike by FOX... 5 bloody years! No notification, no e-mail, no nothing. It's just completely gone from my channel (doesn't even appear next to private/unlisted uploads) and I didn't even know until a friend pointed it out to me. Only way to see it now if I go into that stupid video manager thing. Cheers YouTube, cheers Google, cheers FOX...

I did some research and it turns out that my video was taken down due to a Content ID claim rather than a copyright strike. The former is, fortunately, much less serious than the latter. Anyway, I disputed the claim since it is completely illegitimate and my video qualifies entirely as Fair Use. For now it is back up; they have 30 days to respond - if they accept my message or just don't reply within that time period, the video will remain up and the Content ID claim goes away. If they refuse to accept it then I can still try to oppose it, but then the video may be deleted entirely and I may get a copyright strike (in the worst case scenario the user's YouTube account can be deleted).

The funny thing is that the video itself is quite amateur (the display aspect ratio is wrong, Fraps watermark is visible, there are some spelling mistakes) since I made it 5 years ago and it was one of the first things I ever made using Windows Movie Maker... but I'm still kinda proud that it managed to eventually reach 1 million views and it would suck to see it disappear just like that.

 

I remember hearing around 2 years ago about companies making similar claims that were completely unfounded, getting the videos taken down, and then giving up after the 30days.
So most likely little will come of it and your video will stay up, but still it's stupid of Fox, youtube/google to make a fuss after 5 years and threaten to remove it.

I've actually been planning for a long time to make a new video with better editing, this time with the other predator from P2 that I missed out originally as well as the two unmasked ones from "Predators" (which came out a few months after I made the video, hence why they were left out too). However, I will wait with that until I get my new monitor later this month, so this time the video can actually be 1080p and not 900p.

And it really ignited my dying spark for the game, so now I'm gonna go ahead and play it again

Also bought a new car a few days ago, similar to my old car. The "new" one is a total wreck mechanically, but it has a lot of new expensive parts that I'm gonna remove and keep in case my primary car's parts fail. Most importantly, the "new" car has interior work like white leather on the door-fabric and on the shelf under the rear window, with one hellova huge surround stereo in it. The shelf is custom made in wood to be able to support the 14kg of awesome sound-making juiciness! But most importantly, the car has a lot of body styling: Low and big skirts all the way around the car, a custom grill, a pretty big spoiler, 17" rims with good tyres, BMW M3 side-mirrors etc.
When all the parts are moved over, it'll go from looking kind of like this:

Despite how this second image was the best I could find, it's far from what my car will look like. The rims will be nicer (in chrome of course), the tyres will have white text on them, the grill will be nicer etc. Really looking forward to getting this project finished

I also got a new PC cabinet, it was about time to get rid of that old antique retro cabinet :lol: The new one is pretty old too (Got it from a friend), but it's in this bright yellow color with these really neat windows on the side with a fan that glows in several different colors. Almost looks like a christmas tree :lol:

Sorry if yous had a bit more spam to deal with lately - I was not as active due to some pretty terrible domestic issues. But I walked across two bridges yesterday and I'm still here, so it looks like things are getting better.
