Very good point. In fact, I will memorize this and actually do that in the future.

My internet-card died during my last LAN, so I've been temporarily using a USB-connectable wireless device until my new internet card finally arrived in the mail today. It took me two whole f*@#ing hours just to make it work, little ******* piece of ************* **** **** **** ****!

I eventually ended up deleting the software before cleaning my hard-disc of unnecessary files and junk-files. After that, I could just simply connect to the internet easily without even installing the software for the internet-card.

I'm feeling already that the internet works way faster now - opening sites in the browser goes quite a bit faster. But most importantly: I can finally play Chivalry again! (Without the server freezing 20 minutes into the game, and then giving me FPS problems once I get it up again).

Now remains only the new keyboard...

Yes, I was right about waiting with buying Star Wars Battlefront 3; now they've announced Clone Wars DLC, of course, which is something that honestly should be part of the original game at the full price. I bet your ass that the Clone Wars "DLC" was done before they even fully released the game. I'm gonna wait out the hype, then get -all- the content in one big reasonably priced package.

Also, just bought The Witcher 3. I've been avoiding it for so long now, but now it's on 50% sale, and when I checked out the pictures in the game's Store-page in Steam, I was sold. I know I'm not gonna be able to avoid all those demonic mutant-creatures, so I'm just gonna have to go with it. Hey, at least I'm fighting them, right?

EDIT: You know what, I change my mind, I'm just gonna pirate it eventually.

Time for another rant: After paying an unspeakable ammount of money for getting to the capital and getting dreadlocks, they've started loosening, and one extention has fallen off completely. That's fair enough as I wasn't that thorough at maintaining them. The guy who did the hair told me that when I'd later come back for a fix, or several fixes over time, I'd get the first one for free. I figured that I might as spend some money to get there, rather than to spend more money in a local saloon.

When I got there, and first then, he said that I'd have to pay him some money for it because it wasn't his fault that they had gotten so bad. I didn't wanna argue with him, so I just agreed. When he was done after a very short time, he said that if I paid him the 300 nok now, and 200 nok extra, I would get the next session for free (so I'd save 100). I said no, paid him, and left. Never going back there. Sure, he was an alright guy, but I feel kind of scammed for my money, him being dishonest and all. Even if he didn't do it intentionally, that means he still has very bad communication with his customers, which is unprofessional.

And guess what happened when I got home? Another one of the extentions that had been loose, fell off completely. I might be able to sticth it back in place on my own, but it was very unthoroughly done of him. I also noticed that not all of the loose hairs in the back of my head have been put back into the dreads, there are still a bit of loose hairs here and there that could have been tucked in as well, but I guess he didn't have the time.

That sucks man, the guy sounds like a prick indeed. If his business has a website then give him a really negative review - he deserves it and it's always good to let others know so that they can avoid finding themselves in similar situations. Though I guess it's unlikely he does have a website with some kind of rating system, I don't know how common that is among hairdressers.

I actually found him through the website. It's a very neat modern-looking layout with a lot of effort put into it, with an introduction text in almost flawless Norwegian, pictures of their hair saloon and people they've "dreaded" etc. It says a lot about how "we strive to achieve our customers' best satisfaction" etc.

But when I sent them a very long and detailed E-mail about how I wanted it, I got a simple "Yes, me make very good dreads for you, very good, you order yes?". (Well that was a bit exaggerated, but you get the picture). I travelled there, and it was not in a hair dress saloon, but in some guy's apartment, where he had this little hair-dresser-station. From all the things he asked me, and didn't ask me, I highly doubt he even read my detailed E-mail. He then gave me a really high price.

I think the saloon has closed, because the website actually does seem legit, but everything on it is from latest 2010 I discovered later, so I guess that this guy has continued it on his own. I went there to leave a negative review, but would you look at that: They do have a review-page where you can see five-star ratings with very positive feedback, but there's just five of them, and there's actually no way for any website visitors to leave any feedback. I guess I was a bit unlucky :p

Well, I've been playing The Witcher 3 for nine hours now and I gotta say, I do like it. Skyrim was way better in many ways, but The Witcher has a more realistic and atmospheric feel to it. The horse-riding is way more realistic and exciting, and so is the combat system. Skyrim is just LMB LMB LMB LMB in comparison. This game does what Skyrim couldn't do properly, like when fighting a pack of wolves.

I enabled the console for cheatcodes. Before you go judging me though, let me just explain why: I'm not using it to get advantages like good weapons and lots of money and spawning NPCs around me and increasing my health and enabling invincibility. I do it for the armor. Being level four, after nine hours, you can't just go to a shopkeeper to get the armor you want; you have to go to the place where you can find the "blueprints" for it, then get all the materials needed to make it, and then you of course have to be level 34 to wear the specific one that I want.

If I am to have this armor through the main story at all, and not just for those last 10% of it, I'll have to "spawn" it with cheat-codes, because I am not using countless of hours doing all the random small missions that I really don't want to do, to get it. I just wanna be able to go to the armoury and equipp it, simple as that. No advantages or anything, just the appearance. With this being said though, the armor does give you more health. I also had to set my level to 34 to be able to actually wear it, so I gotta admit that I also used the skill-points that I gained by doing so, to activate abilities and skills. But I guess that's good too; to actually be able to perform neat tricks throughout the whole game instead of having fun with them for the last few hours, after countless of hours' playtime. In addition, I don't see the problem with giving yourself infinite carryweight; you can then change to any clothing / weapon whenever you want to, for any fitting situation. It's not like the carryweight system is realistic anyway, so don't go saying that.

The words that I'm typing, I am hearing in my head with that generic scottish accent of random pheasants and other characters throughout the game  Anyway, I've been to the barber in the game, but I don't seem to be able to choose all the different hairstyles and facial hairs? I can only get two different haircuts, and a clean shave. Anyone know why?

Ugh... I don't know what to say. :twitch: Are you serious? Having level 34 armour and skills so early in the game is ridiculously overpowered (in particular on the lower difficulty levels) - the combat you just praised is gonna become completely boring for you. There are so many quests in the game aimed at levels below 34 that will now make you feel so powerful that it's practically very similar to giving yourself huge amounts of extra health. Such cheatcodes upset the balance and ruin the challenge of games completely. Come on man, I'm level 39 and use mostly level 39 gear... but that's after almost 215 hours spent in-game on the second easiest difficulty and completing all possible on that playthrough quests in the base game and the first expansion. :p You're also missing out on a pretty cool crafting system (I usually really dislike crafting in RPGs, but this was the first one I actually liked and it made much more sense to me than stuff in Bethesda's games).

This is one of the reasons why I dislike the English version... imagine French accents in Metro 2033.

No idea, the game still has some glitches even now, but I haven't heard of this one before. Who knows, maybe you've messed something up by using the console. :p

I see what you mean. In any case, what I meant was that I don't do it for the advantages, although I do get advantages because of it. If I could choose to only get the apparel of an armor, and nothing else, I would do that instead, because for once I actually do like how the game is so challenging that when I'm fighting a boss, both me and it are very equal, so it really gives me that competition-feeling, and even some adrenaline in the end of the fights where both me and the boss have 5% HP, and I have to focus extra hard to get good hits yet not get hit back.

But I really really can't see myself playing this game for 200 hours. I love it and I'll play it more, but most likely not that much. And I really do want that armor. And like I said earlier, I mostly want to progress in the story, and only do the side quests that I feel like doing. This far, I've gotten the impression that the game almost forces you to do a lot of sidequests along with the story, by making the bosses harder and harder so you have to level up from all the side-quests and not just the story-quests, in order to be able to survive throughout the story-quests.

I've considered using the Polish voice-acting, but like I said in the thread about the horrible English voice-acting in Metro: All I'll hear is "skrutiskrooti scattawayki kayaleodiapå iowfapikf mnskdowa jky!", and I'll have to concentrate more on the subtitles and less on the surroundings in the game.
Really sucks that english voice-acting in games can't do as well as the original one. Geralt sounds like he's been smoking cigarettes for all of his well over a hundred years :derp:

I wish, but it actually was like that before I activated the console. But I've only been to that one barber, maybe he's got a limited "stock", and that other barbers offer other types of hairstyles and beards?

Yeah, I get you. There are other good looking armour suits in the game though, since you don't plan on doing a completionist playthrough then you don't really need a character and gear on such a high level. ;)

You're right to a certain extent - the game does force you to complete some side quests in order to progress the main story, but it's a very small amount proportionately to the total number of side quests in the game - after all, it's possible to finish W3 in just 30 hours if you're rushing (but I recommend pursuing at least some of the optional quest lines as that is where your decisions can branch out into really different outcomes). The main quest tasks give you the most XP though, as long as you're not too many levels above the level recommended for them.

That's fair enough, knowing a language is always more convenient than having to read subtitles. I remember how I used to need subtitles for every English-language movie I watched - it didn't bother me that much at the time, but now that I know the tongue it makes all the difference.

That is weird... as far as I remember, all the barbers in the game have the same options (only there's a drunk one in a poorer part of Novigrad who gives you the opposite of what you want), but I haven't played W3 in a while so I could be wrong.

In other news, my new keyboard just arrived. It's awful, and that really disappoints me because I've been looking forward to receiving it for a while, and I really thought it would be way better than the one I already had. Despite the flaws of my old one, this "Razer DeathStalker" is worse. Here's why:

I guess I should have listened to Komo when he said that mechanical keyboards are the best. The fact that the buttons are so thin and have such a short way to go, it means you have to actually push them 100% down for them to react. If you don't, they won't react. Whilst a mechanical keyboard has a longer way for the buttons to go. I thought a keyboard like this new one would be faster to use, but instead it's in fact actually slower to use, because you have to make absolutely sure that you're pressing the buttons down enough so that they actually react. That shouldn't be a problem, but it is on this keyboard because the buttons are really hard to push, so you have to push them really hard to get them past that point you want them to go past. This makes the keyboard horrible to type with, but it also makes it horrible to play games with; multi-tasking with one finger is very difficult (like holding W and 2 simultaneously and D and R simultaneously) because as soon as you get your finger far enough over to the second button, the first button goes up slightly, and it leaves that border so it stops "reacting".

In addition, I thought the buttons would have this smooth matte surface, but instead they have this sitcky rubber-like surface, so once you push a button down, your finger sticks to it. Especially since you have to push it so damn fast. This means you gotta go strictly up or down or sideways, you cant go up and sideways at the same time and you can't got down and sideways at the same time. Well, you can, but you can feel how your finger is being held back by the rubber-surface so it won't glide as easily.

The Multimedia-buttons are handy, but they're placed on the F1-F12 keys. Those keys are usually used in many video games for different things. Yes, you can re-map the buttons and you can even link a specific re-map of the keyboard for each specific game. But that gets you easily confused because then the multimedia-buttons will be at different places for each game, yet the specific icons on the buttons stays on the same place all the while.

It is pretty silent, but for a keyboard with such thin buttons, I'd expect it to be way more silent. Guess I'm just gonna have to save my money and stick with the old keyboard, or keep searching for a new one.

Skaara- the place in Norway, I think, is called rjukan, not completely sure though!

And, eh. Didn't find the voice acting in metro too horrible, I mean the accents were some of the cheesiest I'd ever heard, but they conveyed enough emotion to make them all right. But every time I heard them speak, I just pictured a Ukrainian, with little to no grasp of English, reading out lines poorly transliterated into Cyrillic. Mark Ivanir did a pretty good job with Pavel in LL however.

Oh, and I stumbled across nuclearwaste3 in the youtube comments section today, which was pretty surprising

You're probably going to Gaustadtoppen (The Gaustad top) then, it's a popular tourist mountain-climb as it's a perfect balance between too challenging, and not challenging enough. You can also see one sixth of all of Norway from the top. I've got an album in my Photobucket with many photos from there if you're interested: http://s1183.photobucket.com/user/SkaaraDreads/library/Gaustadtoppen?sort=3&page=2
(If you're going to watch them, I suggest you start with the last picture, and work your way to the first one, it's in the opposite order of how it should be)

^This. Couldn't agree more :) Especially Artyom's voice in the loading screens.
