Various times. I find that whenever I post something, DaDeadlyCheese and Komo are the most likely to respond not long after (mostly due to the fact that we all live in Europe). Autumnal Wanderer and Skaara are also European members of the chat, but they don't check it as often (and that's no problem, I'm just saying). :p Potarto checks the chat often, but usually at other times than me due to the American timezone. Officially Thestalker is also in the chat, but we've actually added his old account that he no longer uses. Warhawk used to participate in the chat, but decided to leave at some point.

It's all quite laid back though, if you join then you are not obliged to post regularly or check all the missed messages (every now and then the chat explodes with activity - so we actually advise turning off sound notifications for the forum chat). I've just added you on Skype btw, but I'm going to sleep fairly soon so chances are that I won't be able to add you to the chat today.

Alrighty, great! I've accepted your contact request as well as DaDeadlyCheese's. I'm also using a portable version of skype, which I've installed onto my flash drive, so I'll be able to talk to you guys if I ever go out of town and happen to be near a computer.

A crazy thing: I decided to cut my own hair today -which is the way I usually do it because I don't like the way barbers do it and I feel like I get ripped off- and....well....I F'ed up. I was using ones of those electirc clipper things and decided to change out the blade for a shorter size so I could do the sides of my head. I removed the clipper, set it aside, turned up the volume of my radio because a sick jam came on, and proceeded with the cut. Although, there was no clipper guard on the buzzer so, basically, I now have a rectangle of missing hair . Fuck. And just in time for that speech I'm gonna need to give.

Maybe I could give an excuse and say I can't go to the graduation or something. yeah...yeah, that sounds good. Damn it!! I don't know what to do. This blows!

Do as I do whenever I want to hide my hair; use a beanie :D
Altho, that might not be such a good idea when you're gonna hold a speech. You could shave your whole head? :D
Or you could cut the sides in the short you want to and explain you had a skin operation or something in that area :noidea:

About the chat: I try to have as few programs active as possible when I'm on my PC, and Skype isn't a priority. I also tend to refrain from using time on chatting, so I can actually use the little time I have in the evenings to actually get some gaming going.

Yeah, that's fair enough. Skype is actually a pretty annoying program tbh - what with all the adverts and that.

I though about it, but nah. I'm gonna have to do that anyway when I get in for the 2 month academy.

I read your story about the poor job that guy did on your hair man. It sounded quite dreadful :p But yeah, dude, that sucks about your dreads.

 that would be something.

Nah guys. I found a solution. Since I have dark brown hair (looks almost black), I bought some eyeliner and colored in my head :D. It sounds super dumb, but it worked very well. You couldn't tell that I had a patch of hair missing unless you got up close and examined my head. I might post some pics or something.

As for the speech: This is basically how it went

I'm just joking; it actually went very well. I literally finished writing it, 15 minutes before the graduation, from the inside of my vehicle. I was stressed as hell. When it was time, my instructor introduced me and called me onto the stage. Sitting on the stage were some real deal, ultra ranking fire fighters. The fire chief wasn't there, but the assistant chief, a bunch of directors, and other chief people were there. I acknowledged each one as I walked by them. When I got to the podium, I pulled out a folded piece of notebook paper with scribbles all over it. It was my speech :p. I only imagine the fire chief people were thinking I was some unprofessional dweeb that was gonna same some dumb stuff. They were wrong. Anyway, I presented it, made sure to look up toward the audience every so often, and the rest was a piece of cake.

After me came the speech from the part-time valedictorian. Not that good :D. After the graduation, my classmates said that my speech rocked and that I made it hard for part-time guy to be the follow up. Well, I kind of brushed it off; thinking they were just being kind and stuff, but then other people, whom I didn't know, came up to me and said similar things. They also said they really liked the way that I spoke and presented myself. Everything flowed very well -kind of like that glacier water from Norway.

I have other stuff to say, but I will leave that for the skype chat. ;)

I've been told constantly that dying your hair with eyeliner is a terrible idea. I was lied to

Is there some special thing about you that makes everyone around you go "DAMN IT, MAN, DYING YOUR HAIR WITH EYELINER IS A TERRIBLE IDEA!" or something, DarknessEnvelops? Speaking about dying - I'm actuall dying my blonde dreadlock roots as I type this, what a coincidence :p

Thanks for the sympathies, Nuclear, but it couldn't have gotten much better either way; my hair is just too thin and widespread to make dreadlocks look real good. Hopefully it'll look a little fuller when I'm done dying it now. Good to hear about your speech though, it's always fun when people applaud you for a good speech :) *Implying I know what it feels like* :spy: Either way, that norwegian glacier water does indeed flow very well.

I'm under the impression that your graduation speech was something spectacular just like the graduation speeches in movies where they wear those squared hats and all. Was it like that? How many people did you hold the speech in front of? o:

That video was hilarious by the way

4030Yeah man. I hope so to. I'm sure it will look cool, nontheless.

Need.....Water :smash:

Haha, no. It was actually more casual. Our attire were the same uniforms we used during lecture time. It was a navy blue polo shirt with our names and fire logo on the front, a pair of navy blue dress/work pants, black belt, and polished shoes. We could of worn our caps that we used during class, by my instructor said not to because they were all ugly and faded from the sun

Nothing grand like in the movies; a few hundred maybe four hundred at most? It was held in a large, carpeted room and chairs were place, in-line, to form rows. I think what helped calm my nerves was that the chairs were all level with each other. In other words, they weren't set up as stadium seating.

Lol, yeah. Komodo posted a similar video, but with Putin, a few months ago. I got the Obama one from the same guy who made the Putin one.

This sounds horrible when taken out of context. I too thought that this was actually the correct way of spelling it, but checked just now to make sure and it turns out it's actually "dyeing"... huh, never knew that was a word, but it makes sense considering the potential confusion there can be between dying-dying and dyeing-dying. :p

Seems pretty grand to me. ;)

Haha, great! :D

400 is a lot of people to hold a speech in front of. I've held speeches in front of about 100 people many times a while ago, and I gotta tell you, it was always nerve-wrecking... Holding that speech at my brother's wedding in a large party tent was much better, especially since I'd already had a little to drink :thumb:

Oh, wow. I actually considered that, but I thought "Naaaaaah", cus other verbs that ends with e usually have the e removed when put used in the... the "-ing"-context. Either way, I lol'd

loooooolll I would have never caught that.

:humble: Why, gee; thanks, Bamul! 4033

Edit:
In your case, I agree. Thinking of stuff to say, on the spot, would really make me loose my nerve and make me just stare at everyone. Luckily, I already had stuff written down so reading out loud wasn't too bad. However you're part viking as well; so I'm sure whatever you come up with can get any crownd going :D

Weeeeell, I don't mean to brag, but I've held a few speeches that weren't planned too much, and got a lot of creds for them afterwards. Once at school about Metro2033/Last Light and Watermelons  I just made a power-point presentation with a few words/titles that stated what I was going to talk about, but 99% of the speech was just in my head because my personal interest for the two things helped me remember it. I never wrote anything down, other than those few words, and showed a trailer to the game of course. Got the best grade possible :D

Another speech was the one at my brother's wedding. There had been some talk about it a few days ahead, but I hadn't given it much thought, and when we had the initial dinner, I had half an hour during that dinner, to plan it. I just thought it out in my head before the moment came where I walked up and spoke in the microphone. I stuttered a little bit and forgot some bits, but still turned out really good, and people went afterwards "Damn, man, you must've worked on that speech for hours!"

No, not at all :)

lol, what? That's awesome. I can't figure how the two subjects would come together in a presentation; but, I'm sure as hell would have liked to see it

Haha, nice :thumb: 4035

Well, part of the task was to add an extra side-jump, or an extra detail, to give the speech more diversity and almost seem more like a conversation rather than a presentation, so I just went "Speaking of Metro.. I was eating watermelon last time I was playing the game-", and then I started talking about lots of random facts about watermelons that most people don't know, like the fact that there's averagely 200 seeds per whole small watermelon, where it originates from, how large they can get and thereby how insanely many seeds they can hold etc

Watermelons - what would we do without them? I shudder at the mere thought of it...

Considering how we're in the same country and all, how do you manage to either stay up for so long, or wake up so early?! XD

Also, that thread with all the universe articles is great, keep up the good work
