Great to hear you had a good holiday bamul! You never know, it could work, I've had a friend stay in contact with his girlfriend for two or three years after he left Russia for the last time. And damn, I wish we were getting a proper winter back here in the UK.

Nuc, I myself haven't tried my hand at missing for stalker, but I thought put would be a good starting place given the mechanics. It has first person combat, a good inventory system, radiation, mutants etc. It would mainly be a job of reskining some stuff, renaming the factions and the map. We could reuse some assets from the Agroprom underground section for the metro, maybe even find a way of directly lifting some of the 3D models straight from metro. It'll be bloody difficult for sure, but it's worth a shot I'd say

    Yeahhh!! 4063

It seems like you had a nice vacation there, Bamul. I think the snow must have come over here, though, because it snowed 6-9 inches (15-23 centimeters), and that never happens in a desert environment. Since I've been alive, the average snowfall that we've see is .2 inches (.5 centimeters). I was pretty stoped to see so much snow. Unfortunately, the majority melted within a day :(

And that mosin nagant! SO JEALOUS!!! Such a beautiful rifle. I've always dreamt of holding one ever since I saw it being advertised in a gun catalog. Lucky you.

And a girl!!! Awesome! Congrats and I hope it will work out well -even despite the long distance. Like Mr. Cheese, I too know of a long-distance relationship that worked out. ;)

Ahhhhh nu, cheeki breeki iv damke!! Alrighty, kick-ass. :)
Let me know on what modding tools you are planning on using so that I may use the same.

By the way: how are you like the Life of Borris? :p

 -15 must be cold, we only had -12 at the worst here in Norway, a few days ago. In return, though, we've got a whole motherload of snow. The parking lot at work... cars stacked up in rows, and we have to move the snow by hand, and move cars that are in the way because there's not much space to park because the snow hasn't been moved. Wading through almost waist-deep snow. And the pick-up trucks.... full of snow

Anyhow, it's good to hear you've enjoyed your vacation. Good luck with that long-distance relationship.. you'll need it :p

Hey guys! Just a quick visiting post. I'm back on vacation from my studies on Pluto after I was savagely beaten by that pencil sharpener wielding electrician. Anyways just popped in to say hi. Winter is really kicking in here in Winnipeg. -25 and even -40 with wind chills but after Putos weather this is beach weather!

In other news in getting into airsoft a lot compared to paintball and I'm going for a Russian load out. So far I have a Gorka-E in partisan, LCT VSS Vintorez, svd Smersh harness and had a makarov but got rid of it because it wasn't to good. But I might buy one again idk. Thinking about buying a FORT DEFENDER 2 vest. Any thoughts guys on what to get next? Oh yeah and I need to get a helmet but I can't decide which one.

Nuc, dunno yet, I have exams at the moment so I don't have much time for the next few weeks to stay this whole thing up. And oh man, Boris is great, he's still at the point where he is a sneak enough youtuber to recognise people like me. So that's great

Aaron, woooo! Another rus softer, brilliant! Seeing as what you seem to be going for is rather MVD sounding, I'd go with either an Altyn, K6-3 or a ZSh-1. Three good helmets, the ZSh-1 is also known as a Maska. All of these helmets have visors that are removable, the Maska has two different visor types. There is the metal one with a slit to see out of, and a polycarbonate one that is more like a riot helmet visor. The Defender 2 is a great vest, if your buying from grey-shop, Sergei is pretty good seller, you can choose which parts come with the plate carrier. I'd go with the throat protectors and crotch protector, don't buy the plates, there's no point. The plates will only inconvenience you, make your own out of a roll mat or cardboard, wrap the cardboard in tape or it'll turn into stodgy mush when it rains. There are three versions of Defender 2, normal, molle and diagonal molle, go with whichever you like most. The molle ones come in more colours than the standard one.
Yeah, basically it. If you need any info there is a Facebook group, Russian military airsoft loadouts UK, where most of my team resides, if you have any questions about gear they will help you out if you want.
Another guy you could buy from is Niko Tzymbalov, although I'm not sure if he ships outside of the UK. He is sightly less expensive than Sergei, which helps in the long run because Russian gear is pretty damn expensive. He also has an FB page, RU military surplus for you

That vest looks kickass, Aaron! :D You totally should get one. As for a helmet, I was going to suggest the K6-3, since it's in Metro (and since it's pretty much the only helmet I know the name of  ) Or you could get that pilot helmet that Pavel wears in Last Light, that would be neat :D But it might not fit the rest of the outfit though..? :p

I always wondered: what's the purpose of the Archive Link at the bottom of the forum. Is that for, like, mobile users? Or is that a back up for when the forum goes down and requires a reboot?

Well I have always loved the look of an Altyn I feel like it would weight to much, and for a VSS shooter a little unnecessary. I do like the idea of a zsh-1 but without the visor, and since I have a vdv telnyaska that's the branch I'm going to stick with, so yea MVD I suppose. I have however been looking into 6b28 style helmets to as they're more what in used to and such but don't have that east block feel.

And yes Skaara I do love Pavels helmet although I believe it's a tankers helm. Which just makes me love it even more given that I can relate.

And if I were to buy a Defender 2 I already have plates I can use. But I think I'll pass on using them as they are to restrictive for airsoft.

Mr. Cheese :p I've been deciding for a while which uniform I'm going to buy next and want to know which u like best:

    Gorka-r BARS

    Partizan suit

Or SS summer Palma with amoeba

I'm never in my life going to buy that god awful digi flora.

If you're playing cqb more, an Altyn would be fine, I use a K6-3 which is fundamentally the same thing, in wooded sites I'll usually remove the visor for easier running. Gorka-R and Partizan are both great. There are loads of pictures from mid 2000's with MVD using Partizan suits and ZSh-1 or Altyns. If using a VSS, I'd definitely go with the ZSh-1, it has a better field of view and I've seen them used by snipers before. I wouldn't go with any of the 6B models, they're what standard troops wear and also VDV, but they wouldn't fit well with the gear you have atm, unless you went for a Ukrainian separatist look. If you did,I guess you could get a Sparta battalion look by using Gorka-r and a 6B28 or 6B27. Replica ZSh-1s can go very cheap, I've seen them go for £20 before now, so that might be the most cost effective. Really the decision between Partizan and Gorka-R is just whichever you like best, SS summer palma isn't used very much so I would cross out that one, but I own a set of Gorka 4 and a Partizan Gorka and I use both in equal amounts. If you are only getting one, get the Partizan I would say.

Pavel's hat could be either paratrooper or tank crew - they both look pretty much the same and have radio functionality.

tanker helmets are rarely any colour other than grey and VDV are usually OD. tanker helmets also have the ear protection whereas airborne ones don't. i haven't played last light in a while, but i think he had a helmet with ear protection, so probably a tanker helmet, and the shape would suggest a model from the 60's or 80's i think

awesome, can't wait to see it! Just, bear in mind, if you're ordering from Russia, the postal service is a bit slow. Their speed varies a lot with international shipping
