I believe that we scientificly can't be born evil or good. As Von said, we don't start thinking of things like this before the age of two. Although, my religion believes that we are born with the heritage of sin from Adam and Eve, just like we would be born with heritage from our parents, like weight, moles, eyecolor, diseases, symptoms and so on. So I do believe that we are born with flaws.

And flaws are not considered to be 'good', so we are born evil.

I cba to read the comments but basically good and evil are just opinions and the society we live in and our own thoughts dictates what we ourselves believe to be evil.

But if we were to be considered evil by todays society then there's many factors that will determine whether we are seen as good or evil.

Our own thoughts are influenced by many factors including how we're raised, how we think and what we allow to influence our minds.
There's so much that influences the choices we make and why they could be considered right or wrong that I couldn't possibly sit here and write it all. I just tried and failed.

Basically though, no. A child can not be born evil.

I haven't read the whole thread, so I might be repeating what some1 else has already said. it is the old nature/nurture debate, can man really be born evil, or man become evil because of what he sees their parents/sibling doing? men are born, then they are formed.

I've taken the ferry over that fjord a countless ammount of times since I was a little baby, and looked at the island. My father has told me he used to work out there, building some of the houses. I always thought it was some top high-security strict and awful prison. I never knew about how it actually is, I've never even thought of that :p

After seeing the Norwegian movie "The king of Bastøy", (which I advice for you all to watch 'cause it's very very good), you can hardly blame me for believing what I believed :p

I don't think so. A child is born not knowing anything. It all depends on where he was grown and how he was raised.

Okay now serious answer, I think it's stuff like Of Mice and Men where Crooks says he played with white kids and his dad told him he shouldn't. Children see no problem with anyone, they don't see colour or race, it's only what they are taught to hate

Like what I said. During segregation and Jim Crow there were so many white kids and black kids playing in the streets and hanging out yet their parents didn't like this. It's all about where you're raised.

Like here: In the middle east right now there are a lot of muslims hating on christians and really the only christians in the middle east are Assyrians (Like myself). Before it wasn't like that. I remember my parents telling me life before all the hate. My mom had so many muslim friends. At one point one of her muslim friends went to an Assyrian church to pray for help on an extremely important exam. That's how friendly it was! No one cared about who was what or what was who. It all depends on how you are taught. (October 2010/2011 Assyrian church bombed 63 killed NEVER FORGET! I remember every Assyrian in Chicago and the surrounding areas gathered in downtown the whole day and marched (Including myself. We all left school and were able to get our parents to call us out))

One of my tea labels recently told me "You are born innocent and angelic", and those labels are always too damn right, so can't argue with that ;)
