that won't even work on pc as games arn't able to be bought for free on pc. Next thats still day one dlc. Just day one dlc that hurts the consumer even more...

No, they shouldn't. It's an inconvenient hassle, it's a short-sighted pseudo-solution, it benefits absolutely no one and is fundamentally wrong on moral grounds. This supposed "war on used games" (if there really is one) is between publisher and distributor, not the bloody consumer. How you cannot see this - and how you'd rather see your fellow gamers fall victim to corruption - is beyond me.

To add to my point, here, have a listen to what this bloke has to say. He runs a video game store. EDIT: And even more nails get their heads bashed in on this episode of The Jimquisition.

Previews were based on actual game builds so far, not doctored builds. In fact the game looks a lot better now than it did in preview times.

Funny that you should mention Jim as I used to work with him when I wrote for Destructoid ;)

Oh wow. Pew you're one chill dude. Also just asking do you do any video game development or have you done so in the past? I'm looking for a college that has a good computer science program that I can specialize in video game programming?

I did news, previews/reviews, and features, as well as being part of the proofing team -- the people who read other editors' stuff to make sure there are no typos/it actually makes sense/tell editors that commenters will complain about certain aspects unless it's elaborated.

Before joining Deep Silver last year, I mostly did reviews and managed a few people working on smaller/indie game reviews. And tl;dr guides.

I don't, and have never done any. Like everyone on the planet, I'll always have ideas for a game, but I'm not creative enough to actually ever make that work. I am also terrible at programming and my art skills are limited to copy-pasting in photoshop or drawing stick figures in MS Paint. This kind of limits your options in development :).

If you want to enter the games industry, make sure you are in it for the passion and not the money -- programming in other industries tend to pay better. A good way to start is to look at http://www.gamecareerguide.com/ or go to GDC/GDC Europe with a Student's pass to network and talk to people.

And if you are a programmer type: find a college with a thriving indie scene if you can. Work on some things to get experience, and use that for a portfolio if you want to move on to studios later :).

I do have a passion for it. I know they make some good money. Truthfully my dream is to either lead or be apart of an indie studio and make a great game. It doesn't have to be the next minecraft, but I want it to get good reviews.

Ehhh, you can find my old stuff here. Go wild. Of course this has nothing to do with what I do at Deep Silver today, so don't tell me you disagree with a review or score ;).

Re: "looks better" -> a game is always being worked on until it is close to release, and final graphics are almost never in place for things like previews. As long as you use a version of the actual game for a preview, that is. It's not going to look *dramatically* different from the footage you've seen so far, but the devil is in the details on the tech side. So don't expect it to feature a nanosuit or anything.

But it will look really nice :).

Can you stop with the bulshitting about The Witcher 2? I bought the game at launch, completed it three times and have been following the news surrounding not only it, but also its developer and the next part in the same series ever since. The ONLY instance of something SIMILAR to this that I can recall is a bunch of day-one DLC outifits that didn't really add or take anything from the game other than being a silly bonus (they weren't even overpowered or anything). Furthermore, BEFORE RELEASE, the developers changed their minds and gave EVERYONE access to free codes to download those items. So, technically, it wasn't even day-one DLC and doesn't count, since it was given to everyone before day-one.
