    It would be appreciated if you could contact the metro wiki admins over some form of IM. We've been keeping in touch with THQ community manager over Skype, so that one is most preferable.

    Of course not! We want a harsher form of DRM. What about tasing the player if he fails to provide proof of purchase every 30 minutes?

    On another side note will Last Light still have a thq logo on the box? ( sorry if this is a stupid question)

    Seeing how much hype the infamous (but great) Dead Island trailer created, I believe the marketing side of LL is now in very capable hands! ;)

    The THQ logo will be replaced with the Deep Silver logo on the box.

    For your information, Deep Silver games are distributed by Square Enix in North America. That means that Square takes care of all the logistics and packaging for boxes. They can also sell it from their own webshop, I believe. So if you see a Deep Silver game being listed as "Sold by Square Enix", that is the reason why.

    Don't worry, that is about where their involvement ends. Metro won't turn into a JRPG.

    I have no problem with posting a pic even though the request comes from someone whose nick is Thestalker ;). But all of my current pictures are awful so let me shoot one next week when there is somebody around to hold the camera. You don't want one of those self-pictures from my phone.

    We'll investigate the situation with Pre-order bonuses in the coming weeks. If there is something we can do to remedy this situation for the fans, the feedback here and in other threads will weigh heavily in our decision.

    I know the EU Dead Island collectors edition is a bit controversial atm as you went with a bikini zombie (which I kinda like :D ) but if the Limited Edition or Collectors edition of Metro had a themed statue that would have been awesome!

    Removing essentially what is a difficulty setting (ranger hardcore) and offering that as a Limited Edition bonus was a kick in the teeth and not only did it cause outrage here but the general feeling was echoed on various Gaming sites (Euro Gamer, IGN, Gamespot, CVG etc etc)

    It may be too late to change things now but with the marketing prowess in Deep Silver I am confident in the future this will not happen.

    This is what I wrote to Joe at the time when it was announced, but due to the THQ crisis I and the community here and in the wider world never got a response:

    Depending on what you put in a Collector's Edition, it can take up to 6-7 months easily to go from "should we do a Collector's Edition?" to having it ready to ship to stores and fans directly. I think a CE for Last Light could be awesome given the rich Metro universe, but it is almost February now. If we would start now, that would mean there is no way the game would be released until such a CE was manufactured and shipped.

    For Last Light, I think most of you would rather just get the game in your hands earlier.

    Having said that, some of the ideas in here and in the other threads do sound really good. Perhaps I can get something done for community contests or giveaways. That way it wouldn't necessarily be tied to the release date, whatever it ends up being.

    Don't blame Joe for what happened, though. The people who make decisions on different editions of a game don't always listen to the community managers, or even ask them. It can depend wildly on the company and the kind of people working there. I'm sure he tried as hard as he could, because I have yet to meet a community manager who actually likes giving their community bad news.

    For Dead Island Riptide, however, we asked the community for CE ideas and put the best ones in a survey for people to vote on. The North American CE ended up consisting of a couple of top items that people voted on the most.

    IF Last Light does well and IF 4A Games decides to make a new Metro game and IF Deep Silver ends up being chosen by 4A Games to be the publisher, I would try to do the same again to do a CE. But that is a lot of IFs! :D

    Danke! Unfortunately I'm actually from The Netherlands, but I live in Munich where the Deep Silver HQ is located. I can read most German, though. Writing it without grammar-fail is another matter.

    We DO have a German team that takes care of Facebook and the German/Austrian/Swiss communities, so they will be instructed to treat you right ;).
