Skaara it has been revealed, at least the who nuked who part. I'd like to think the war of 2013 was started over what I would assume to be religious conflict. This is because the first nukes were launched between the Middle East. Seeing as the Middle East is an epicenter of Islamic, Judaism, and Christian faith, you can see why I'd theorize it to be a religious war. For reasons that are unclear, the United States fired its nuclear arsenal and most of Europe's power nations soon followed. South America, Africa, Southeast Asia, Greenland, Iceland, Canada, and Australia did not engage in nuclear warfare with the rest of the planet and therefore were not struck by nuclear devices in retaliation.

The information of who nuked who was revealed through the intro to the survivor's section on THQ's Enter the Metro site. If you watch the entire thing, it shows you what happened on that day. As for why, who the fuck knows?

Since THQ is gone and you are taking questions... Do you know if 4A games will support the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset?

I have heard nothing to support that claim but Metro is the perfect game for such an accessory.

I think the reason the history was never explained (or maybe I read this in a different post-apoc novel) is simply that it doesn't matter who started it, and why.. it happened, and the survivors have to deal with the fallout.. literally.

Wow, that is awesome, Lurkers! :D What I see on that site that Lurker posted:

Some country to the left in the middle-east launches a nuke at some other middle-east country to the right. They fire back. Some other countries fires at one of them to stop them, but fires at the wrong one either on purpose or mistakely, and some other country reacts at that and fires back to the country that tried to stop them, and so the panic spreads onwards, and everyone just fires at each other. I'd be between two nuke-strikes, hopefully not in range of any of them :D

Of coarse if that many nukes where used then the power of them would make the air in the entire world poisonous. The nuclear winter would be huge!

Not really. The intro section on the website could be a representation of who bombed who used just as a cool intro but not with any actual connection to the plot (like the live action trailers).

Or it could be what 4A came up with, which is still only half-canon. What can be confirmed from the books, the game and common sense is that Russia and the USA were definitely involved in the Great War of 2013

The books also tell us that people survived in Moscow, Sankt Peterburg, the Kaliningrad Oblast (in Kalinigrad's metro), Ukraine (in Kiev's metro), Italy and Scotland (Glasgow's metro) - which hints that people hid in the London Underground too.

^ I'm not one to say for sure, but according to the legal documents that were posted, it looks like they will have soundtrack rights to the original.

If they used their minds just a little, they would see that addition of a downloadable soundtrack (from their site) for preorders might convince some people..

With what Pew said we won't be seeing a real limited edition with the release date being so soon.

I'd much rather have no limited edition than the crap THQ came up with.

I really don't see how this game is gonna be released in march. I'm hoping it is, but I think we would have heard by now (on the other hand, I'm sure we would have heard by now if it was delayed).
