Do you ever get tired with the open-endedness of the game?

Truly, I don't get bored of the open world idea. It's the gameplay that I could get bored of. Once you've beaten the boss and did all the quests that aren't repeatable, what's there to do for your character? You can always explore and see what places you could get stuck in or find a hidden spot that not many people know of, but what about the game instead? In Tera, I had fun by passing the time in Global and playing hide and seek with some random people just for the hell of it. So, yeah, it's possible to have fun after ward, you just have to make your own till another update comes out.

If you play the game for too long, then yes, you will get bored of it. However, that's where updates come in! ;)

Open world is fine, it just depends on the game-play itself. Like in assassin's creed (for any of the five games), I just don't feel motivated to play the game after I've finished the story-line, mainly because the game-play heavily depended on the story-line and on the fact that you don't know what's going to happen next and what to expect.

Can't really I would get bored of the open environment. It is one of the best things you can have in some games. However, Games that rely heavily on the story line, I imagine I would get bored.

I mean, At that point, What is there to do? I feel the need to have some goal to get to in order to make it interesting at the very least. Just running around and swinging can be fun depending on the game.....

I would maybe get bored if there was not a lot to do and the things that could be done are just repetitive and not really exciting and makes you bored. Some games can have good open world areas and some, just have them and not real exciting to explore and more around. I think some games, should have exciting things to do and enjoy the game while exploring and have side quests so it will be good to explore.

Yes I have tried it and I seem to enjoy it a lot. I have also found many other friends of mine who think the same too.

It depends on your definition of "endless".

In a MMORPG setting, I'd rather it to be "endless" where you can't see the "story" finish. Or where the fun is? There must be something going on to keep people going, or at least there is always something different. While all of the current games can get me bored after a while, the ones with endlessness can always make my interest last longer.

One of the reasons I was most excited about UO was the idea that my character was never finished. I hated playing single player RPGs back in the 1990s because the game would just end, and then your character was done.. nothing you could do.

No, not really. Usually to me there is some finality to my characters before I move on to a different class. Whether its simply the end of the storyline, reaching max level, purchasing uber weapon... whatever. Once I move on to a different class, if the game is good, it feels like a different experience all over again.

I guess if you're playing the same game everyday, regardless how grand the whole thing is, it will get boring. Right now I have three games and each is of a different genre. So when one game gets a little tedious, I switch then come back after a few days.

Everything comes monotonous after time. You just need to keep it fresh by taking frequent breaks.

I don't get bored with open-ended environments; I get bored with stale content. I can play any MMO for years and not get tired with it, as long as there's an acceptable change and variation in content every so often. It's difficult, but entirely possible to experience everything an MMO has to offer. Once you reach that point, the reward of playing the game seems to diminish a lot.

For MMOs I want puzzles tossed in with rewards at the end, with optional bosses that scale with difficulty and level to make it more engrossing. I think more people would find stuff to do in WoW and other MMOs if there were more exploratory related activities to go with the open world. Give people incentive to visit old zones to get through a maze like mini dungeon and get cool shit at the end.

Mostly in MMORPGS, and less so in RPGs. I'll get tired of playing through the game eventually, though if I make great friends in the game, I'll probably stay for quite a bit longer. Additionally, when MMORPGs sometimes reach a point where it's sometimes open ended, but the 'best' choice is ridiculous amounts of grinding (without cash shop aid), then I'll sometimes become frustrated and just leave the game.

I don't! The more endless to the game, the better! It allows you have an unlimited amount of adventures in the game. Some people like to have a limited amount of freedom in a game, which is understandable. But it's pretty fun if you get the freedom to do whatever you want!

Yes, I am more of a story driven character. I like to play through the story, play a little bit open ended, then be done. Sad, I know.

No way! I won't get bored of a game until I've done everything and don't have any new material. That's what happened on Destiny. I maxed out in everything. I had all the best weapons and armor. There was just no place left for me to go.

Yes I did. A lot of MMORPG games get super boring because it's repetition, and you can get tired with the open endedness of a game and it can drive you to quit as well. I know I had that with RuneScape, Neverwinter, Tera and Aion.

I've actually never thought about the open-endedness of the game. When I play a game, I usually don't think about the specific details, I just enjoy the momentary pleasure. I don't get that much bored, but I do spend a lot of money which boosts my will of playing.
