Do you get lost easily while exploring?

All the time. Back when i first played i used to build towers so i could find my way back. I was so scared of losing my house back than that i didnt take any risks.

It depends, I don't get lost unless I actually venture inside a cave and lose all sense of direction, it happens quite often to be fair. I just subconsciously turn around and forget the direction of my house, but I sometimes build these extremely tall towers and use them as landmarks.

I can almost never lose my way above ground, as I have pretty good sense of direction there, making it easier to trace my steps back since the land is open. But exploring in caves is an entirely different matter for me, especially since the caves wind around and around in complex systems sometimes stretching for thousands of blocks. I will then be unable to remember all the path choices that I made, and thus finding myself in a deep, dark, cave, hopelessly lost. However, my workaround to this is just digging up towards the over world, then identifying landmarks that can bring me back home. My suggestion to those who are bad at remembering their journeys is to use a map mod, that allows you to place way points, or if you want a vanilla experience, place torches as a guiding path towards your home.

I actually have a good tip. If you don't use redstone a lot and you mind a lot and get all that redstone and use it for nothing useful, create redstone trails with the redstone dust. It's aesthetically pleasing and really useful as well.

Not getting lost is one of my biggest priorities while playing Minecraft. I've learned to mostly just stay near my initial base until I can craft a compass. There aren't too many things starting off that aren't generally available near spawn. If you happen to spawn and there aren't any animals, that's another issue, though I typically just search them out, make a base in THAT general area until I can craft said compass, and THEN work my way back to the original spawn area.

I always get lost while exploring, however I have a trick that prevents me from getting lost. By putting torches every 30 blocks you travel there is a smaller chance you will get lost in caves or out in the open. When I do get lost however, I tend to just give up and suicide to spawn back into my house.

I use to get lost, but now when I decide to go exploring far away from my base, I press F3 and write down my coordinates in the notepad on my phone. Now I can explore as much as I like and I will never get lost. I would recommend this method to anyone who likes to explore long distances.

hahahah, getting lost is the TRUE struggle of Minecraft! I hate getting lost, especially when you have a pretty established home and you can't really afford to lose your home.

Personally, it kind of makes the game a little bit more fun though. :)

I get lost far too easily. Like yourself I know there's items to help, but I still find myself getting totally lost regardless. I've wandered for days trying to find where my base was, or where I originally intended to go. It was so much worse back in the original version too.

I don't usually get lost when I'm adventuring because i place a torch trail everywhere I go.

Na not really that often. I usually make a point of always having a map and a few back ups just in case and get them all set up fairly quickly if I'm on a new world. Even if not, I'm usually playing with friends so it's easy to get back to wherever I'm going with the Coordinates.

Lately I've been playing mods though, so I have a minimap which makes things a billion times easier!

I'm terrible about getting lost in both Minecraft and RL! Whenever I decide to set off on an epic adventure, the first thing I do is write down the coordinates of my home. Sometimes it takes me hours to find my way back, but at least when I know the coordinates I'm never truly lost. :)

FYI, you can see the coordinates if you press F3 while in-game. Just hit F3 again to disable the info on your screen.

I do get lost a lot, but I have a minimap plugin so I can mark the important things, like my house, and it also automatically marks my last death in the case that I die.

It depends if I am playing by myself or with other players. By myself I tend to know where I have been or where I have been mining. If I play with my husband (who enjoys just seeing how far down he can dig) then yes, I get horribly lost. Our tunnels will overlap and when I go to leave I get all turned around.

I get lost if I don't create some kind of sign that I came from a certain area. I'll build large pillars every once in a while when I explore so I can see them if I end up going too far. There is a map that you can create, but that thing doesn't work well for me for some reason.

All the time, I have no sense of direction..Unless I put down torches along the way or something. That's why when I mine, I always make sure to put the torches on the right side, that way I can find my way out, otherwise I'm lost for all eternity.

I don't really get lost to be honest. At major places (such as my base, mines .etc) I setup a large tower which has torches covered over it. I also have a mod installed called Rei's Minimap, which allows me to set waypoints which point towards a certain set of co-ordinates.
