Do you get lost easily while exploring?

    I ALWAYS do.

I usually make endless torches and occasionally place them on the ground as I walk around, especially when I'm in caves.

I find myself getting lost all the time. I'm so bad at getting lost that now I only go exploring when I have another friend in my world. I'll get him to do something near the house and have a map so he can guide me back once I inevitably get lost in the wilderness. It's really fun to explore, but not so much at night when you're lost and there are monsters all around. That's why I try my best to only do it during daytime if I can help it.

I build a tower of glowstone and set my render distance to far so I can find where my earliest position was. I don't like using coordinates and this seems way easier in my opinion.

Oh yes. It gets really frustrating when you travel for twenty minutes trying to find your base. Then you think you went the wrong way. Then you're just completely lost entirely. It's happened way to many times. It gives me a migraine just thinking about it.

Embarrassingly enough, it took me quite a while to figure out that I seriously needed to do this. Lol. I got lost so much at first, it was pretty frustrating.

I use to get lost a lot, before I got the compass mod. I love cave exploring, and I would have a habit of getting lost in them quite often. Especially because I have a talent for finding deep caves and falling into them. I once fell into a cave-waterfall next to a water NPC village. Scary stuff man.

When it's night and I'm low on health/food bar with little to no resources to my advantage, I tend to get lost pretty easily. My adrenaline rises and I don't remember what paths I've taken unless it was painfully obvious. Nonetheless I end up trying to run for my life extremely nervous of losing my items. It's pretty scary to get lost sometimes but not as much if you have no items.

I get lost every time I leave my house to mine, and for some reason my brain has trouble understanding the very simple map Mojang was kind enough to give me. I tend to just turn it into an exploration rather than panic and waste energy haha. Although I have built a very large, well lit beacon near my house in order to find my way back from basically anywhere above ground in the world, however that doesn't help much if I'm in a mineshaft :p

Yeah, I get lost easily, but I usually place some kind of marker down, not a tall tower, maybe a three block tall tower than is like an upside down L shape, pointing towards the house, and I'll place them every 50 block maybe (less often now though, I got a new PC so I can turn up the render distance). Keeps the world looking nice without the towers, and I still know where I am! Woo :p

Yeah, I have an absolutely awful sense of direction. That's why I keep a map in my hotbar at all times, and made my main "house" basically a lighthouse so I can see it from far away.

Like some people said I use a map or lay down a trail with torches. However I just make sure that if I build my house, I put it in a clearing or near some obvious landmarks so that I don't get lost. One time I built a house with my sister in the mountains and we ended up getting lost because it got dark and we forgot where we were. We didn't use our map and had no land markers so I died because I wasn't prepared to be out late (and I suck at fighting mobs so there's that :p )

All the time! Especially when exploring cave systems, even if I have a trail of torches.

If I explore two minutes away from my house, I get lost. I have such a bad sense of direction in Minecraft. Whenever I play, I usually use Rei's Minimap as my primary mod. It helps so much, waypoints here and there create a better experience for me in Minecraft. Before mods probably went mainstream, I used to build a huge netherack tower and light it on fire so that I would never get lost. It worked but trust me, Rei's Minimap did really help me. Minecraft is like a toy story for a kid, one place gets you to another and to another and to another and eventually you get lost. Ah, Minecraft.

Yeah always, but I combat this issue by laying down a "trail" of dirt wherever I go, so in case I do get lost I can just find the trail of dirt and go back to my mine.

Yeah, I have a minimap mod installed, and I have a fairly powerful PC now, so I'm able to turn up the render distance and be able to see the house from further away. I also put down markers made of dirt in the shape of an upside down L, that point in the direction of my house.

Yeah I do get lost, but I try to remember familiar places before I run of so I don't lose my house. The first time I played, I lost my house for 2 months! But found it much later on and realized how bad I was at building :D.

I would usually build two columns of dirt blocks as high in the sky as possible and add torches on all sides of the one and use the other one to get down block by block. And thus I would build a sky high torch pillar that I would see from the distance during the night and be able to get back to my base.
