Do you help new players?

It all depends on what I'm doing and the mood I'm in. I generally like helping, but I prefer to do so on a forum where the answers stay permanent and more than 1 person can learn from it.

I do my best to help new players when I can. I don't generally give free items or run players through dungeons, but I'll always answer questions or give advice if they ask. Since WoW is an MMO, having more players improves the game and community. Existing players can make a large impact on the newer player's experience.

When the game first came out, a helping hand was very easy to find. However, WoW has been made so easy to play that there is almost no need. I feel that if you can't learn to play a game that is already really easy, then experience and struggle is the only way you could possibly grasp it.

I tend to help them out and then take them to a PvP area and just kill them if they annoy me too much, :p

Yes and no. I don't help the players who constantly beg or sit in Stormwind, whining about wanting free runs. On the flip side, I ran an entire guild that was based on helping new players and being welcoming to those who didn't know a lot about the game, so I spent a fair bit of my time doing a lot of helping along the way. So long as they were appreciative instead of selfish, I enjoyed it. :)

As I stated earlier I do tend to help when I'm asked, I think it really boosts the reputation of the game, however lately I have found myself ignoring newer gamers purely for the fact I want to play and have fun, not play and answer 101 questions.

I don't like to help the new players, (newbies) because I'm impatient... I like to play solo..

I don't go out of my way to help new players, but when someone needs to learn how to do something or when questions are asked in trade, I'll answer them / guide them towards what they should be doing. No reason to be mean to people for just being new, and it makes the server's community better to have nice people respond to unsure newbies.

I help them if I'm being asked. But I ignore the beggars. They are very annoying. Besidest that I also help them if they are being attacked by a higher level player and they do not accept it.

That seems to be the mentality of most players nowadays, I can't say I am surprised though.

Yes, but only to a limited extent. No, I wont fill their pockets with gold. Yes, I will take out that annoying boar that is in the way. If it is a question phrased "how do I ..." I am happy to help out. If the question is "Can you... " then I am more hesitant.

When I played last time, I never bothered to help anyone. It's challenging enough managing for myself, I didn't have the time to help with others. I just wasn't bothered, it's a dog eat dog world, every man for himself.

True but there is some fun in helping newer players and then taking them to PvP fields killing them and taking their gear, even if it isn't any good, it's easy gold hehe.

I once watched a nude blood elf female get 4,000 gold for dancing by the fishing spot in Orgrimmar. That was madness, especially since it was my friend who was a dude.

I usually help them out. The reason is, I had a hard start also. New to game, didn't know a thing. And there was a player, Leucothea was her name, who helped me out a great deal to finish some high level experience quests, crafted me some great items, invited me over to the guild later on. It had a great impact on me, and on effort I put into my character later on. I hope to do the same thing for someone else.

Most people really don't have the patience to help out new players, especially in PvP and PVE content. I mean, how many groups in LFG say "Willing to take any player and any gear! Will help you get through content!" Most guilds are the same way as well. They want players who have already done the content and have an idea how to do the raids already.

I always try to help a player if he is requesting some sort of assistance and doing that politely. If I see that I have time and can provide some help, (whether it is a short quest, few gold coins or something similar) and the person writes in proper manner and grammar, I am always happy to do so.

Totally depends. I hate the type of noob who constantly gloms on to you and wants you to tell them everything about the game. Having said that I did meet a really good friend (in real life) because we started off helping each other in WoW. So sometimes yes and sometimes no.

Agreed. I don't mind someone asking to help with a cap once in awhile in my guild, or maybe do some BGs to help gear. But I've had some people who just constantly ask me for gold and depend on me for everything without really playing the game themselves. Those people I just put on ignore and go on my way.
