Do you love mining?

I hate that too so I just use a bunch of tnt underground and collect everything. Most the time I get a few diamonds but not always

I have the exact same attitude, I love it, unless I cannot find a single material that I am looking for. But it always happens to me, when I am looking for Iron, I can never find it but I will find coal, and vice versa. It can be extremely frustrating!

Personally I don't like mining. It gets extremely monotonous and just overall boring. I prefer building more than mining, it's more creative and you actually get to see what you've accomplished.

Mining really pays off especially if you know where to go and what to prepare. I'm still figuring out whether a cave or a shaft is better. And I'm starting to really get into the mining aspect of the game.

Mining is fun until you reach a point where mining becomes safe and easy. The most exciting part of mining is the 'the next stone rock I mine will uncover diamonds!' feeling, but after a while in a decently developed world, it becomes tedious and feels like a grind. At that point I just use TNT, that's awesome no matter what :)
    Blowing stuff up? Aww yeah

Isn't mining always dangerous? You never know when the next block could put a flow of lava right in front of your face and light you on fire

I find mining in Minecraft to have a zen aspect to it. I like the rhythmic sound of the stone blocks breaking. Occasionally I get a little too zoned out and end up dropping to my death in lava or falling into a dark, critter laden cavern. My favorite mining techniques are going down to level 11 and branch mining and finding the lava pools and carving out around them.

I especially like coming across caverns and the abandoned mineshafts, and in the case of modpacks the other goodies they add to the game. Finding the chests with loot in them are like a payday and I am like "Ooh yeah" every time I find one.

What ends up happening to me when I go mining for a particular mineral is I just get distracted and mine for hours and collect so many other useful and not so useful material

Meh, actually building is not really my thing. The reason is that I am not that creative, so the only buildings that I can really make are boxes. I am not the person to ask is you want a castle made. That's why I prefer mining over it. I love the way you can collect resources. I also love exploring the caves and dungeons deep down, because I just like exploring!

I love mining. Finding diamonds or a mob spawner is a great feeling. However, I get lost easily when in a mine shaft/cave, but caves are the easiest for finding diamonds and gold, and mine shaft are so fun to explore.

The long periods of boredom of interspersed with times of excitement when you find something valuable or interesting. I'm an impatient person so it's not very enjoyable for me, but I suppose for other kinds of people it can be very enjoyable.

Well as a person that likes to mine for gold in the real world, I love to mine in the game. But as people have said it does get tedious if you are on a huge server and everyone has mined the heck out of the map leaving nothing but coal to find, and sometimes not even that!

You're right about that. I am kind of impatient as well. However, the only thing that keeps me mining is the prospect of discovering some cave system or some ravine or even a dungeon or abandoned mineshaft because I absolutely love exploring.

I do. I think it just appeals to my personality. Yeah, it can be a little monotonous, but it's exhilarating to find diamonds, especially on a survival map that you have invested a lot of time in. It alomst feels like all that time spent is "paying off".

Yes and no. I like building a little mine and I enjoy seeing it grow. Listening to music and mining is sometimes relaxing and enjoyable but I can't last too long or I get bored and have to take a deep breath of fresh pixelly air on the surface.

I love mining only when I am exploring a dungeon. It is so fun to get lost and discover a lot of minerals especially diamonds. The thrill of evading death while holding your precious minerals is one of the best feelings you'll ever get in Minecraft.

I like mining but I think its even better with modpacks, there are a lot more ores and there are also a lot mores tools and explosives to mine with!

I agree with you that mining can be tedious and boring, especially if you are mining without finding any diamonds. When that happens it can and will get boring fast. The only thing you can do is think about what you are doing for, your goal. For me, diamonds are often my goal. And when you actually find what you are looking for it just feels so rewarding. That is the best part of mining.

I love it, to me it's addictive, I enjoy the thrill of finding a great amount of ores in one spot and collecting them. Even if I have a lot of coal, iron, gold, etc. I can't resist the feeling of having to mine them!

To some extent, yes. I do it more for the fun of exploring caves and possibly encountering mobs though. It's rewarding to receive ores when I do find them though. I generally hate pure digging, though. Unless I'm only digging for a short period of time or fine a tunnel somewhere, I'm not going in.
