Do you love mining?

I don't "love" it. The mining itself is really boring and I find it far from lovable, but when I return with all the newly mined ores. That feels great. If I found a couple of diamonds it's complete (usually I keep mining until I find them anyway).

I enjoy mining, for it is one of the core aspects that shapes and defines the survival game mode, and is also one of the things that adds value to each and every resource that you obtain, leaving you with a sense of satisfaction at every diamond or ore you discover. I just cannot explain in words how delighted and overjoyed I was when I found my first diamond ever minecraft, after hearing so much about it, nothing beats discovering something valuable after minutes or even hours of hard work. Each iron ore, gold ore that I find brings a smile to my faces, and at the end of my mining, I look at my inventory and sit there admiring the minerals that i've obtained, not noticing a creeper approaching me steadily.....:)

I kind of really hate it, I just rather blow up what's underground, mining gets very annoying.

Mining would probably be my favorite thing to do. I love mining and everything about it. I love the thrill of encountering mobs that you can't see, finding all sorts of cool resources and treasure, and just exploring mines with my friends.

I love mining, I find it relaxing. Usually I listen to music or podcasts while mining and I enter in an "autopilot" mode.

I really love mining! But the thing is, it can get really boring and repetitive. It takes up a lot of time if you think about it. The best strategy that I could think of when you go caving is to bring an enderchest with you, an empty one that is. That way, you have more inventory spaces to put your ores and stuff in. It's also a good idea to bring a silk touch pick so that you can use your fortune pick at home. It's not a good idea to use your fortune pick to mine because it does take up a lot more space.

It's quite fun yeah. Getting down and dirty, building underground tunnel systems, losing track of game time.

I was a huge mining enthusiast and would spend days creating mining caves in search of diamonds and gold. It was particularly fun to build camp/bases along the way down. The only thing annoying about it is reaching lava and the random creepers that show up!

As an essential aspect of the game, it's pretty cool. It does get a bit irritating since it's a bit repetitive, but other than that it's one of the games main features, so I personally enjoy it quite a bit. I wouldn't play a game called Minecraft without expecting the game being based on mining and possible repetition, but with that being said, I enjoy it, but it's not one of my favorite things to do in the game. I personally prefer building and exploring strongholds above anything else, it's just my personal preference.

Personally, there are two outcomes to mining, a rewarding trip to the mine or, unrewarding and time consuming trip. I personally like strip mining as it is the best way to mine for diamonds. If I'm going for iron, gold, redstone or coal, I would be caving instead of strip mining as caves tend to have more iron, gold and coal at the surface of the cave. Sometimes you are able to explore while mining, such as going into a giant network of caves.

Minecraft isn't about taming elephants and riding them around in order to progress to space on a rainbow? Blasphemy"

I do believe it isn't, at least not yet, but who knows what'll run through the developers' heads. But, I like the idea of progressing to space on a rainbow, maybe they should also implement several leprechauns and oxygen in Minecraft as well, also large pots of Gold Bars. That would certainly be great additions to the already wonderful game, right?

In the beggining i loved it. But it became boring i found out i found everything. So the only times i enjoy mining is when i play FTB or Tekkit or any other modpack that has a lot of ores in it. Its just the explorer inside taking over.

I agree with most of you on this one. It can be incredibly tedious, but I guess in a lot of cases you need to do it.

I'm playing a lot of the Hexxit mod at the moment, and you can pretty much play through the whole thing without needing to mine at all. Definitely prefer it that way.

Yeah, Mojang should make the player dependent on mining, he should also remove player's ability to build anything, maybe base the game entirely around mining you'd be able to mine for food, mine for trees and most importantly mine for ores you won't be using because he'd also remove the crafting system!
Afterwards the game could simply be called "Mine" because there'd be no crafting or building, even though going by that sort of thinking - you shouldn't have been able to build in the first place.
And this is why I'll never become a game developer.

It's...okay. It gets rather repetitive to be quite honest. Dig this block. Move forward. Dig this block. Move forward. Dig this block.

That's why I like to do my mining on my laptop while sticking a movie or show on the main PC. That way it doesn't feel all that bad, you know?

I love mining! My favourite form of mining is TNT mining, even though I might not get as much ores as regular mining :D
