Do you play with friends or meet new friends?

I used to play alone when I was a kid. Its really great to meet new friends and know people all around the world. These days I play with my friends mostly. Each type has its charm I guess :)

I only had one friend who played WoW. We played together for the first 20-30 levels but after that, we both basically played alone and teamed up with other guilds because we needed a lot more people to do the raids. He retired shortly after and I kept playing for a few more years.

I stared playing essentially on my own. Eventually I got close to some people I've grouped and guilded with though.

I used to play with friends all the time when I was an active player. A friend got me into it and I got all my friends into it. There was a time when I had at least 10 friends playing the game with me. Good times, good times.

My friends were playing Beta and got me into it a few months Vanilla came out. At first, my friend let me play his account. They played Alliance and I played Horde. I just didn't click with Alliance.

Two months later, I bought myself a copy and continued playing Horde. Those bastards would hunt me down and camp me until I quit for the time being, but it was fun for awhile.

I didn't actually make any long lasting friendships in the game, but I did meet a handful of people from Thottbot and I have been playing with them for the last three years on the server Nordrassil for Horde.

I mainly play on my own and find friends on-line. Not through my lack of trying to get people into it. I even bought my little brother a copy of the game for Christmas, but just told me the files were too big for his laptop. My wife played for a while but she's not much of a gamer.

I have a group of friends I usually play with (3-6, depending) but do end up meeting some new "friends" some of which I end up not seeing again after a while. Kind of like real life, I like that.

I find it's best to play with a group of friends to get things done efficiently. I will only solo if I have have to grind and nobody else is on.

None of my friends in real life are gamers, so I meet friends in game. The best way to do this in WoW would be to join a guild. I've met tons of great people in various guillds, many of whom I've been in contact with for years.

My guildies from WoW were one of my first friends on the north american continent. After I moved to North America I started playing on NA servers and realized that a bunch of people from the guild I joined lived in the same city as I did. I told them I just moved to the city and they invited me out for drinks. That was 7 years ago. We still talk and meet in real life.

None of my real life friends played WoW so I had to make new friends. It's worked out great though because I've met a lot of awesome people over the years while playing WoW. Even if your real life friends do play the game, I highly recommend making some new friends as well.

I'll probably meet friends to play with in game. I have friends outside of the game, but I'm not exactly sure if I want to play this type of game with those guys..they take a lot of stuff way too seriously.

I've tried playing with people I know and it rarely if ever works out. I've had more luck finding people online to play with. My friends in real life have different schedules and interest span and that's fine.

I don't mind playing with strangers that later become friends. It's not always that exciting to play games with friends that you know in real life because you more than likely see them on a regular basis, anyways.

Usually in games, I do both. A friend will introduce me to the game. I will start playing and then I start gaining new friends. Way back when, I used to just find a ton of games, play alone, then meet new people.
WoW is something I avoided for years. Finally, my husband talked me into it for the new expansion and I play with him. :)

I started out because my husband (he was just a boyfriend then) moved in and he played. I didn't think I'd like it at first so I refused to play and he made me get at least to level 10. After that I was hooked. We had mutual friends who played and we were all in the same guild. Occasionally we would have new people join the guild and we'd become friends with them too. I had lots of fun playing with people who were once strangers but then became good friends, all because of the things we had in common. We would have never known each other if we hadn't chanced upon someone and struck up a chat or they happened to join our guild, so, just one of the many things that is wonderful about WoW.

I tend to play alone for the most part, but I always enjoy meeting new people, so new friends are a blessing. I tried playing with a friend I knew in real life, but it turned out to be a fiasco, as I was max level and he only was 20, and grinding together for XP was really tedious.

I actually get kinda embarrassed about some of my nerdier habits (like playing WoW, or D&D, etc.) so I never really made friends with people irl who played WoW. However, I'm always making new friends on WoW to play with. My favorite friend I ever made was an ally death knight while I was playing horde and we would always try to kill each other. But they stopped playing, so now I just have my guild buddies. They're pretty cool too.

I don“t play online games with real friends. One of the reasons I play games in general is for a bit of a break from real life. The last thing I want is someone I know complaining about their real life. I usually avoid those types of people in games to begin with, but if they are your real friend, it is a bit harder to put them on ignore.
