Do you think they should add more aquatic mobs?

As mean as this may sound, that would be incredibly entertaining to read in my opinion, and the intelligible scream would make a great addition, it would just make it even scarier, especially if you're a beginner. Kudos for that, really!

No they shouldn't in my opinion. The squids are annoying enough and serve no purpose. They should add some type of flying mob though. Perhaps one that can be tamed so that the player can fly.

I think they should, and eventually they will. I've seen a lot of discussion on this topic, and most people agree on the fact that we'd need a few more aquatic mobs.

Hahaha, I laughed really hard at this.

Yeah! About that portal you're talking about, maybe it can be hidden in that new structure that was shown recently in the new Minecraft snapshot! That would actually make sense as it's a labyrinth pretty much.

Thanks! If you haven't already read it, you may like to look up the story of Old Man Henderson. I think you'll love it

I went through I believe half of the story, still hadn't read the Director's Cut, though. While it was rather hilarious, most of it was blatantly obvious that it was trolling and a part of me wishes that I actually had a chance to play the game to truly get the entire concept of this masterpiece. It's like getting only half of satisfaction, I'm pretty much only getting the "action" without the "satisf".

Yeah they really should. Just having squids is really lame especially they aren't even hostile and just drop ink sacs. They should add more like jellyfish and sharks. This would make us more careful to swim across large bodies of water without supplies to fend them off.

I think the salamanders that spawn in the overworld should only spawn in swamps to give the biome a purpose.

Sharks, eh don't really want them.
Whales are them same for me as sharks.

Fish would be nice but there are problems with them like how they would allow for good preformance and still have acfair few on screen at once.

Yeah i agree with people in the thread who said that there should be some sort of Lovecraftian Horror like Cthulhu in the game. The devs have given tribute to a few stories already, and i feel like incorporating huge monstrosities would lead to an even more exciting adventure. Imagine that you just started survival mode and are crafting by the beach when suddenly Cthulhu emerges from the ocean and one shots you.

I'm ok with how aquatic "life" in minecraft is right now, but I wouldn't mind some improvements. I agree with the whales idea, that would be hilarious! Haha

I'm sure they'll add a lot more, eventually. Aquatic life in Minecraft is not really so developed and they know that. I'm pretty sure we'll see some change in this in the foreseeing future.

Yeah, water mobs would be cool. Maybe some whales and being able to be swallowed by them?

Of course it would be a welcome addition but they should add more boats and other stuff that can be used to fend off those mobs

Well it's been a while and now with the new 1.8 update they added hostile mobs underwater! The guardian. It shoots laser beams and attacks squid but I feel that it doesn't really fit. I hoped for more traditional sharks or maybe even a boss type deep under water (maybe a giant squid?) the guardian seems really out of place but it prevents players from just being safe under water (other than oxygen). What I really want to see is sky creatures that are hostile to prevent players building homes high up in the sky to be safe to add more elements of survival. Nothing to crazy but maybe just buzzards or eagles? Not sure but it'd be pretty cool!

If they add more aquatic mobs they should add more equipments like boats or spears or whatever.

I'd love to see more of that aquatic stuff. I think the main spawns they have are a little plain at this point. I know someone recommended sharks. Even that would be an AWESOME addition.

Maybe it's okay but there are already mods that has dolphin and sharks. Maybe a whale would be nice to add.

I would like to see more aquatic mobs, I mean right now the ocean is completely boring and uninteresting, and it really has no purpose. They should add more animals that could be an alternative food source, that you can kill with a sword or spear. The Forest on Steam has it right, where you can actually see the fish. They could also add dangers like Sharks and octopi, which would add to the risk in going to an island you see off the coast, but then again you can just install a mod.

This is a great idea, they could really go wild with aquatic animals, they could even go as far as a Narwal or The Loch Ness Monster.
