I use them if I can spawn them, but generally I'm too lazy to make them myself.

Never made even one. It's far too much work for me since you need to have a blaze rod to make a brewing stand, and for that you need to go to the Nether, and to do THAT, you need to get obsidian, and for that you need diamonds, etc., etc. Then you gotta get all these ingredients. I don't think it would be worth it for me.

I use potions every once in awhile when I feel like I need a boost for a specific task or battle. I find them useful, but I know a lot of other people tend to ignore them or shy away from them for whatever reason.

That's really the reason for me. It's only for something minor, and you have to do sooo much to get them just to last for a little while.

I don't use potions too much. When I played on a small server, I built a brewing factory that would give you the correct supplies for your potions with the press of a button. But I play on single player now and haven't had the time to make a proper brewing factory, so I don't use the potions. I hope I will when I get around to building it.

They are pretty helpful, but it doesn't kill me to not have them.

I only use them if they're available by chance, I never choose to make them by byself.

I personally never got into potions because I quit a while before they were even created. From what I understand, the concept of gaining EXP and creating enchanting tables and all that; it's simply too much for a potion. They've got all the abilities and powerups and you can equip them to weapons and such; when it's a solo-player game, all these enchantments seem so unnecessary. I can honestly still punch a creeper to death if I needed to. I don't need to "smite" it or "knockback" it.

I don't use potions at all. I love going old school and not messing around with the new features that are available in the vanilla version. Also, I'm pretty lazy when it comes with gathering ingredients so I could just spawn them if I wanted to.

I tend to almost never use them, unless I play with my friends in servers.

Nope. Only in combat but very rarely I just go about my business. But the night vision one really helps a lot especially when you're mining but for the most part I just eat the apples.

I always try to keep some potions ready for combat, but more than often when I get in combat I simply forget about the potions, and remember them only after I get out. They can be really useful though if you use them well.

Only use them when I'm in the mood. They should make some simpler recipes and more variety of potions so people would use them more often.

Like others have stated in this thread, potions are usually too much of a hindrance for a tiny gain/benefit. While it's cool that the developers added such a feature to add variety to the gameplay, when I think of potions I can think of so many other cool features other than a simple stats or HP boosts. What if it's a spellcasting system instead? It would sort of fit with the Minecraft universe right?

Yes! In fact, recently every base I build I intend to turn into a mass-potion production facility. My favorite potions are invisibility and night vision potions, which is lucky because they both come from carrots. I'm a big fan of caving and I learned that mobs will ignore you if you're invisible without armor on. So I use 'em both and go exploring like nuts. Or at least I did. It's been awhile since I've gotten the chance as my server keeps restarting before I get the chance to start mass producing. My own fault really, I've recently been attempting to make my bases look better and not just a hole in the wall. Delays the production quite a bit. :(

I usually keep in my bag some potions. The problem is that I forget that I have them. Everytime I tell to myself I will remember to use it next time I need it, but it never happens. :(

Rarely. I use potions on online in PvP servers. On singleplayer I only use speed potions and night vision potions. And also it's hard to make a potions because you need to find the ingredients.
