I am super excited for Inquisition! I felt really disappointed by Dragon Age 2, largely because of how small that world seemed as well as how poor the story line was. I am hoping Inquisition is truly massive in scale, comparable at the very least to Origins. I am liking the things that we have seen so far from all these little previews. Let's hope they learn from all the mistakes they made in Dragon Age 2.

I`m totally looking forward to Inquisition. Both because I`m very curious if Bioware can pull off an open world game, and because I really hope my PC can run the game when it comes out. If it is very good, I might consider an upgrade just for this game.

I can understand where your coming from I mean DA 2 everyone that played the 1st one had high expectations for the 2nd one and most not all were disappointed in the game myself included, but Bioware needed more time hopefully they will be given the time that they need if they are I am sure they can pull it off they are a great company!

I think you hit the nail on the head on why DA2 failed - time.
DA2 came out maybe a year after the first one, it was a super rushed job to try to capitalize on the success of the first game, now that they had a lot more time to make the third one, hopefully it will turn out much better (couldn't possibly be any worse)

I think DA 2 came out shortly after they got taken over by EA, so it was indeed a typical EA rush job. However, the game was pretty good on its own right, even though it was much more dumbed down then first one. That it took Bioware so long to make a 3rd DA game is definitely a good sign.

I think Bioware is back in this one! Hopefully, EA has realized the blunder that they made with Dragon Age 2: forcing Bioware to release DA2 in two years, causing them to rush and releasing an ultimately unfinished, unpolished product. DA: Inquisition has been in development for ~3 years, so I'm sure Bioware is giving us back the glory of Origins. I'm very excited and hope I won't be disappointed.

I'm new to this series, so Inquisition will be my first. That being said, I'm sure I won't see the disappointments if this game doesn't live up to most people's expectations (to be more like Origins). If I may ask, what exactly makes Origins that much better than 2? And do you think it'd help to know the storylines from the previous games to better enjoy this one? I'm thinking about getting the first 2. I usually try and play games in order, but if 2 is as bad as everyone says, I'd rather skip both than buy both.

There's going to be some kind of Dragon Age Keep system so you can customize important decisions made in previous games, so it shouldn't really matter anyway, right? I know Mass Effect 3 has something like that where I had to make a whole lot of plot-related decisions that changed the course of the game's history.

In any case, I'm pretty excited for this game~!

Oh believe me, by the trailer it looks like they upped their game and made it a lot better looking then the second game. It was like you bought the first game and it was amazing and I found myself so into it. Then the second game came out and I was like "Neat, I get to continue the story" Was so disappointed by it, I think I finished but I can't remember. This new one though looks pretty bad arse, I will definitely get it.

A lot of the problems that came with Dragon Age 2 stemmed from the release cycle only being 2 years long, so they skimped out on a lot of things. One of the major gripes was that the combat was kind of unsatisfying and there wasn't as much "strategy" or thinking involved in the use of your characters. Also, people had a problem with the story, as your actions didn't really seem to affect the main storyline whatsoever, robbing the player of their sense of agency in the game. And although I think understanding the storylines would be helpful, it completely isn't necessary; Bioware is designing this as a standalone game that can be played regardless of whether or not you played the previous games.

Hope you have fun and welcome to the series!
