Dragon Age Origins Vs. Dragon Age 2

Origin was much better than its sequel.
There is a long list of reasons why Origin is the superior game. Dragon Age 2 is too easy, the story isn't nearly as captivating as the one in Origin, it feels very repetitive, there is less strategy involved into combat, it's always the same few environments re-used, etc...
Hopefully DA3 will be more like Origin than DA2.

    DA2 felt dumbed down, sadly.
Recycled textures..running through the same ravine or cave 20 times - no fun.
Going from being the savior of the world (DA origins) to defending a small city that feels almost like a prison - not very satisfying.
The combat was too easy. I know a lot of people did not like the combat system in DA origins - well , I didn't like the one in DA2.
You couldn't customize your companion's armors - what is this?
All in all it just gave me the feeling that my choices had no effect in shaping the game world. I am aware that the "choice" is somewhat an illusion in most games and that BioWare can't make 2000 endings and scenarios, branching out for every choice...but there should at least be that illusion. I felt DA2 didn't offer that. Lie to me, oh sweet wonderful lies!

So... another vote in for DA:O

I totally agree illusen, The lack of companion customization was a very blunt aspect showing just how lazy the game design was.
The combat difference, I can't really say which was better because they are so completely different, DA:O has slow, tactical and thoughtful combat and DA2 had a more twitchy, fluid combat, almost like an action game.
Story-wise, the first one was definitely more epic as well, there's nothing grander than saving the entire world and that can't really be topped.

DA: Origins was better than the second one, if you ask me. Great storyline and the combat system was somehow more realisting and nicer than the DA 2.

DA:Origins was miles better than DA2, but even better than the original storyline was the Awakening expansion, did you ever play that? It's amazing.

I loved playing Dragon Age 2! Sarcastic female Hawke was so funny and entertaining. I just wished the companions were more attractive and complex.

    I've played both.
Dragon Age: Origins on the PC and Dragon Age 2 on the PS3. They both are fun.
Both with demons/creatures/dragons. All fun. But I probably prefer number 2 because of the new characters.

That's usually the case for these kinds of games. Like Diablo and Diablo 2 were great games and then they smacked you in the face with Diablo 3 that just made people hate the game. This happened in Dragonage, the first one is always going to be the best.

Origins is probably in my top 3 videogames all time. The atmosphere, story, and characters just make it the most complete game I've ever played. I was pretty disappointed with Dragon Age 2. Unlike others, the gameplay was alright (though I missed the tactical overview), but I just hated the recycled areas.

I loved the Dragon Age Origins but I didn't care for Dragon Age 2. The fighting and UI were really dumbed down. And oh hey look you fight here during the day and oh look its night and you get to fight here again. I hated how they reused the same zone over and over. I give Dragon Age Origins a 10 out of 10 and I give Dragon Age 2 a 4 out of 10. And giving Dragon Age 2 a 4 is being very generous.

I loved the first Dragon Age, as well as the expansion Awakening, those were both fantastic.
In DA2 they tried for a more action-oriented game and I think it really fell flat.

I liked the first one Dragonage origins,as it had a good story and characters you meet along the way. It involved choices good or bad affect the game. Like saving the child who has demon inside or slay him most team members will disagree and you need to make sure you have approval of them. I felt like as if I was part of the game world, and was interesting to visit different places and get paid for doing work or fighting bad people. There were complex characters like Loghain who betrays alot of people blames main character and wardens for blight and war and delusional. It was a game that you could explore alot.

Dragon age 2 it was average for me, as graphics and also fighting was simple, and seemed not advanced. Companions can be good guy, in middle or rude and witty. The game did some good things, and was more about mage vs templers as some good some bad story. The first was about uniting country to fight against the blight which was true enemy.

Exactly Vegito, there was a sense of epicness that was present in the first game that was completely gone in the second one, I hope they manage to bring it back in the third installment.
