Wow, that really... sucks.

And yeah, you will die. A lot. And you will lose everything in your possession when you die.

Watch out for people walking up to you in towns, if they do the regular "picking stuff up" animation while standjng next to you, they're probably trying to rob you. They can't take anything from your active slots though, so keep valuables in your hands, or even better, in your tent.

Best if you can travel in groups, that way if one of you die, the other/s can loot the body.
I've lost every single thing I own, several times.
When that happens, you go looking for flint, make a primitive tool, and start again.

I feel like our different time zones might conflict with our ability to connect in-game.

My user is the same as here. US Central time zone, usually on pretty late into the night. Was on a few days ago, just wandered around with nothing but an empty plasma rifle and worn leather armor to my name, trying to figure out what to do without getting killed.

I'd imagine there are multiple servers, but I didn't see any options to switch, and I can't imagine something like this having anything beyond niche appeal, so I'm not sure. Should we try and hook up via IRC sometime?

 

Skype maybe? i can go on till about 1pm PST so yeah

 

Skype would also be a pretty good tell for when people are actually on. I'm Хватит спамить меня, уебы, someone should add me so we can set up a group chat.

There are "multiple servers" but they are completely different builds of Fonline.
Reloaded and TLA mk2 are the 2 biggest, maxxing out at a little over 200 players each in peak times.
Fonline 2 was the most popular, but they are in the middle of some huge changes, and are going to have a wipe and start a new server soon.

It's important that you guys all downloaded the same client, from the same place. That's the only way to be sure you're all on the same server.

So I've read through this thread and now I'm wondering how the hell have I missed this? :lol: This seems like a very interesting idea, though it will definitely be hard for me to get back into the classic style of Fallout gameplay after so many years - I sure would like to give it a go. I'll let yous know when I've downloaded and started playing, though I probably won't do that today.

I like to help, and Reloaded needs new blood.

All I ask is that we be allies. Whether I end up joining your faction or another, or start my own, it will be good to have some people playing that won't kill me on first sight.

There's a text document called "name colorizing" or something like that, once I work out how to use it properly, we can update and share the document so our names show up as a particular colour to each other so we know who are our allies at first glance.

Oh yeah, interest is paid at 0.5% per day I think, so don't expect to make a lot of cash that way.
There are lots of options though. I mine and cut wood, then make combat shotguns and sell them.

I'm mostly around the Hub. Which is a shame, because I can't find a brahmin herder or workbench anywhere in town.

I also can't find any trees to cut.
