Favorite LoZ game?

Honestly, Wind Waker was my favorite Legend of Zelda game. Taking off the nostalgia glasses with Ocarina and the entrenched predispositions on its glorified existence, it’s hard looking at it the same way.

Of course, one has to take into consideration of what it would be like for games like Ocarina of Time to be the apotheosis of the Zelda Series. However, after absolving myself temporarily form childhood memories, the story was fairly bland and predictable.

This isn’t really something too surprising, but Wind Waker just had those elements that made me really like it, excluding the fetching of Triforce pieces. Tetra was the Zelda that I grew to love tremendously because of her unique demeanor.

The other Zeldas just seemed so bland and can easily be labeled as Ice Queens (especially the Twilight Princess Zelda). Twilight Princess definitely had elements that would make me more attached to it than Windwaker, but there’s more emotion in Windwaker in my opinion when you analyze it further.

Probably it’s due to my liking of cartoony visuals, and the Link in Wind Waker actually had other reasons for eventually becoming a Hero. I think when it comes to the last Zelda in the bloodline, at least based in the history at the time of playing the game, it made me appreciate how these characters would want to aim for a brave new world.

And unlike the other Zeldas, Tetra actually apologizes to Link for what she’s done in the past with him. I have never seen a Zelda that felt like she could cry and throw away her pride to state her flaw to the enduring Hero. She could easily hold her ground and made a group of Pirates respect her with ease! And she definitely wasn't shy to ask Link what's up with his outfit.

Just talking about other characters and their uniqueness brings chills to my spines. But with any Legend of Zelda game, each have their own pros and cons, it just depends on who wants to give half-truths to sustain their favoritism of certain games. I guess it's inevitable, since there are just some games that definitely changed who we are.

I have to go with Windwaker. And you know why? Because it's the only Zelda game I've played. Awful, right? And I haven't even finished it yet! I'm terrible. I just got sick of driving the boat around -- for whatever reason, knowing that I'm in the middle of the ocean right now is seriously dissuading me from picking up the controller again. I've already considered trying another one though since I really do enjoy the story. I've been told Majora's Mask or Ocarina should be the next I try. Thoughts?

Windwaker honestly. The whimsical and fun atmosphere it had really made it a very visually and emotionally pleasing game to play.

I actually disliked Windwaker to be honest. The sea travel was somewhat annoying to me as well. I dropped the game for the longest time and picked it up again more recently to finally finish it. I have to say however, it has the best, most unexpected ending for the finishing of the boss. The art style was fairly unique though and it definitely had its own quirks.

My favorite Zelda entry would have to be Majora's Mask. While I adored Ocarina of Time, something about the darker, slightly creepier atmosphere of Majora's Mask and especially its time system interested me. Also there were a number of side quests and things to discover only to be found during certain time periods.

Ocarina Of Time is the best all around, but I really enjoyed Link To The Past. I had it for GBA and played it constantly, and truth be told, it's the only LoZ game I've ever come close to beating. I also really liked Majora's mask, and I really want to play Skyward Sword.

Prior to playing Ocarina of Time, my love was for A Link to the Past. I remember being in 3rd or 4th grade and spending hours on end playing A Link to the Past trying to beat it. I'll always remember the day of falling through the pits of the pyramid because I couldn't figure out how to beat Ganon. I never gave up though and finally I prevailed. Fast forward a few years later, the N64 hits the market and I finally get Ocarina of Time. I'm thinking their is just no way for any Zelda came to compare to A Link to the Past.... boy was I wrong!

Ocarina of Time was the end all be all for me. From the beautiful graphics, to the huge world and complex dungeons, my mind was blown. I don't even know how many hours I put into that game and I even bought a Wii specifically so I could play it again after 10 years of not playing. Comparing it to games now, I was blown away by just how good that game truly was. It was way ahead of its time. I like Majora's Mask for some of the same reasons I like Ocarina of Time, but to me it pails in comparison.

Ocarina of Time = Greatest of All-Time (for me anyways)

I agree completely. I do like that they wanted to add a new puzzle element to the game in the Triforce Charts, but that ended up being why I quit playing the game. I enjoyed the dungeons, the cell shading which was unique and I actually didn't mind the sea travel too too much, but the complexity of finding the Triforces and aimlessly dropping my hook in hopes of pulling a Triforce up became annoying and turned me off of the game completely

My favorite Legend of Zelda (and favorite videogame ever) is Ocarina of Time. I waited for many years that Nintendo released. I got it for Christmas in 1998 and could not leave it. It was amazing, all the freedom you had to wander around Hyrule. I had never loved a game so much as Ocarina of Time. The bosses were not that difficult, but the dungeons could be a little bit challenging. And finding all the gold skultullas was a really hard task.

All about the ocarina of time on the N64 for me. such a good game. The only downside of it is it makes every other game you play a slight disappointment...lol.

Each different game is like a whole new experience, so it's hard to say which one is my favorite. Recently I've been playing the OOT on the 3DS again, so that ones fresh in my mind.
    Yeah, OOT is my favorite.

Ocarina of time was amazing for me, the storyline was great for the 12 year old me. Majoras Mask is close behind, although it creeped me out when I was young.

I'm not sure about Skyward Sword, but in Twilight Princess there aren't any motion controls other than aiming, and you can disable that.

My favorite LoZ is either Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess. There was just something about TP being so dark, it was pretty cool.

A Link to the Past is my favorite by far and away. It was one of the few games where I went out of my way to 100% complete it, and it was a fantastic experience.

Wind Waker is a good runner up, I really like the wide open world that it lets you explore without limiting you too much. I also liked the addition of the turbo sail in the HD version.

Minish cap is my favorite. It was my first game though so my opinion is biased by nostalgia. Twilight Princess was really fun too though.

Majora's Mask has to be my favorite one. I mean come on, you get to be a Zora, Deku scrub, and a Goron. All in the same game! It also has an awesome sound track to boot.

Ocarina of Time would be my favorite. It had the best balance of magical ambiance, nice music, creative game play mechanics and story. It was a memorable game. I wish I have an N64 today, so I can play the game through to the end.

It's between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess for me. I thoroughly enjoyed both times. But if I had to pick one, I would probably choose Twilight Princess. I really enjoyed the graphics and gameplay.

And playing as a wolf was pretty cool!

For me it's really a toss up between Majora's Mask and Windwaker. I loved the storyline of Majora's Mask and found it really easy to get into. Windwaker was a blast to explore in because you could sail around and discover new places and there were a ton of mini games!

Majora's Mask is my favorite LOZ game, and it's probably the best one on so many levels, too. Ocarina of Time is a close second.
