    FTB for single player or LAN games and Tekkit for online multiplayer.

    I don't think I've ever had a FTB server that didn't crash eventually...

    Tekkit just works when you need it to. Similar features sure but they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

    I prefer Tekkit. It's simple to use and user friendly. I tried using FTB, it's nice but it's complicated for me.

    I've always been a tekkit guy. I haven't really played much FTB recently, so I don't know how the modpacks have changed, but tekkit has always felt like the mods were better chosen to work with each other.
