First person or third person?

I think for me, it depends on my mood and what quests I'm doing, etc. If I love my gear and costume, then I like to be able to see myself (and how cool I look), but for some things (like battles), of course I think it's better to be in 1st person.

Depending on how you handle motion sickness, Oculus can be rough. A friend of mine managed to get their hands on the gear for beta testing, and we tried a run playing Half Life 2. Boy, was that a bad idea. We all had migraines.

If they can manage to keep the threading and the motion drag from being too much of an issue in first person, I can see how Oculus would be awesome. Skyrim would be amazing. As for me, I prefer third person in general. Easier to see my surroundings.

    I prefer first person.

I use ranged attacks most of the time and using third person makes me dizzy and the camera position seems off to me. I do like using it when traveling just to get a better peripheral view.

Most games that offer both I will switch between. I do like the idea of seeing what is around to me but sometimes I like the up close and personal route better. It makes for more fun when you are going hand to hand combat style.

Yeah especially if you play games like Skyrim which depends on YOUR accuracy and not stat based.

I really dislike the 3rd person camera. It always feels to me that the character doesnt belong in the world that they placed him in. Plus side on the 1st person camera I feel like I have total control. I suppose it all comes down to preference and habit.

Skyrim was great and made to be played in 1st person. ESO however is made (I think) to be played both, leaning a little more towards the 3rd person perspective. It just feels different from Skyrim, which is negative.

I prefer third person, personally. I have never really gotten the hang of first person games. I like to be able to see what is around my character, and that is a lot more difficult in first person (for me, anyway).

The absolute most important thing to keep in mind as you're crafting a first person narrative is that everything that occurs has to be filtered through your narrator's perspective.

First person feels more real so I tend to play it like that. Sometimes I change just to get some different feel.

I use both, depending upon the situation and my needs at that moment. Each perspective offers a couple of benefits over the other, but it's obviously all based on what's going on around you or what you need to accomplish.

I spend way too much time designing my character to play first person. At the very least, I'd get to stare at their back for the entirety of the game. Third person all the way!

I usually like to play as a first person although in the other hand third person isn't a bad option.

I like first person. I like the feeling of seeing my duel wield right in front of my eyes. It makes the game much more immersive.

I use both. My little mouse wheel gets a workout. First person is in some ways more fun, but third person in necessary to get a good view of what's going on.

I have always preferred the first person view, especially when I am in combat scenario. It's the immersiveness that is really fascinating about this game.

I mostly alternate between both depending on the situation and my surroundings. I feel like it looks and plays better in third because you get to appreciate more of your character and you get more information on screen regarding whats going on. Bust first person is good for those moments when you need absolute accuracy and or need to get a better/closer look at your enemy.

i really like third person mode because to me i feel like i can appreciate the vast world way more in third than first. but obviously you have to switch back to first for combat for any kind of success.

Definitely first-person view, it's pretty much easier to me when I'm in combat mode but sometimes I switch it to third-person view when I feel like it.

In the single player Elder scrolls games i play in first person view. In the elder scrolls online i usually play third person tho because i gotta be aware of what mobs are around me etc. Also i just like looking at my character that took hours to get to the point he's at.
