That's not a bad idea at all. Really like how they thought out of the box. Of course this is possible only for guilds from the same country/city.
Back in WotLK I was playing with people from neighbouring countries and we often gathered in a different county, but that was possible only cause we were like 3-4 hours apart from each other.

That's the one, bots are bad humans are good, however I am wondering in the case of Runescape, is it gold that people earn from selling items to shop and picking up from monsters that people sell to make real money or what?

I am ok with humans farming for gold then selling it because they are working hard but on the other hand I have a huge problem with bots farming gold.

Lol I think I kinda understand what he is talking about. I think he is asking if whether the gold being sold which was earned by using the buy low, sell high tactics in Auction House/Marketplace/and the likes, is also acceptable or if gold farming is the only acceptable form of gold selling by humans who practice gold selling. In my opinion it really doesn't matter if you farmed the gold or if you earned it by being a wise merchant and playing the market, as long as no bots are involved then I guess it shouldn't be a problem.

Maybe it is time to set up a game in which players can sell gold and make a real world profit doing so. ;) The game would have to be subscription based. Players would perform tasks like "escort the newbie to the town" and in return they get paid. "Report a bot" quest get paid etc. I am joking, but I can see the argument that spending hours working on the computer to get gold is sort of a job as long as it isn't interfering with the enjoyment of others of mechanically done.

There have already been quite a few games like that. The most famous among them was Diablo 3, however they will be removing the real money auction house from March, which of course won't stop the gold selling. To be honest selling gold/items in Diablo 3 will become even more profitable when they remove the real money AH.
Btw when Diablo 3 came out in the first month or so there were people who made over $10,000 in just a month... After that the earnings went down, but for a few more months there were a lot of people who were making 4 figures profits.

Jesus $10,000 seems pretty damn excessive, they must have been selling an awful lot of items or at least some powerful items for a high price, I suppose it is the same that most of the other games like Runescape and so on have though, it's a bit hard for them to cut it all out though.

Well since the game had just been released good items were selling for sick amount of cash. A lot of the items would sell within 5 minutes for prices 500-1000$, but 1 month later everything was worth like 1/4 of that price, but it was still decent cash. Now it's really hard to sell items, but there are still people who make 4 figutes monthly.

There are not as many as there used to be, but they always find a way to come back. I had my account banned several times thanks to these guys hacking it and using my characters to spam chat in WoW. Annoying!

Well that sucks, I really hate people who seem to have nothing better to do than hack other peoples accounts, just irksome behavior if you ask me.

I do not buy ingame gold i feel that is a huge waste of money. Although if i have plenty of it i sell it to pay for the cost of the game every month.

I agree, I don't see the point of rushing for the end game by spending real money on in-game special currency, I much prefer a gradual progression than one done in haste, just seems wasteful to me.

If I'm filthy rich I'll probably don't mind spending real money to buy in-game stuff. Since I have a lot of money to burn, buying things for a game is nothing. However, I'm not rich so there's no way I'm going to spend real money to buy in-game currency when it can be obtained through other means like playing the game.

exactly, that's a very good comparison, actually and more than likely represents what actually goes on throughout the games involved.

I don`t see the point of buying in-game currency in a video game. It is just a game, you play it in your free time to have fun and relax. Spending real cash on worthless things like more in-game gold to buy a better looking mount, for example, is just pure waste of money.

Although I would never spend money for in-game currency I can't agree with you.
Gaming is a hobby(unless you are addicted of course). The question is for example if you are collecting stamps as a hobby would you be willing to spend money? Obviously the answer is yes. When it's not strange to spend money for stamps example why should it be strange to spend it for something virtual, when the end result is the same - makes you happy.

They can all burn in hell for all I care.. I think it's absolutely wrong and is a bannable offense. Those people are the worst. internally destroying the economy in games is horrid and is really annoying for those of us who play fairly.

You do have a very good point, but stamps are real and they gain value as they get older. You could potentially sell a good stamp collection for thousands of dollars. I know stamps are just one example, however the idea here is to spend money on hobbies that are worth spending on. Blowing away a hundred bucks on an MMO to buy a level boost or a fancy new armor set is not worth it in my opinion.
