    In The End if you place a bed and try to use it it explodes, which can be used to hurt the Ender Dragon when it's swooping down at you. This may have been fixed it's been a long time since I've tried it.

    Only time I ever killed the dragon was when in creative mode, trying to find the portal without cheats takes waaaaay to long. Plus the fight is annoying if you don't have a good bow or enchantments like people have said.

    Yeah, I spent a few hours recently to rebeat the Ender dragon. He looks really awesome and it's fun shooting down flying things.

    I've killed the Ender Dragon in like 10 or 11 different worlds. To make it more challenging, I just choose one weapon to fight him with and don't use anything else. It's not that easy killing an Ender dragon with your fists, let me tell you.

    I find it hard to believe you managed to kill it with your fists. What, you would just wait for it to fly close to you and punch it once? You would have to do that more than a hundred times if you wanted to kill him.

    Nah, I haven't beaten it yet. I just never bothered to actually do it. I feel that there's nothing worth going to kill it.

    In my current world I haven't, because it's a new world. But, in previous worlds, yes.. Only a couple times though.

    I tried to and I spawned it near my house and I my house is totally wrecked. Lesson learned. Never gonna do it again, never spawn Ender dragon.

    Nope not yet. A friend of mine told me that after you defeat the Dragon the game would somehow become pointless from there on.

    Yeah, you're kinda meant to go to the end world for that. You could always disable mobgriefing if you wanted to have it in the main world, but I'm not sure why you'd bother, it's easy enough just to build a portal to the end (or if you're running a bukkit server you could probably just teleport yourself there).

    Yes I did. And to be fair when I defeated the Ender Dragon I felt some sort of accomplishment that I got tired of the game altogether.

    I guess I'll have to try doing it sometime, I had no idea so many people were doing it, I thought it took a LOT of time to work my way up to it.
    I'll start a new world with that goal tonight.

    I never really saw the appeal of killing the enderdragon. Sure it's nice enough to have done that, but in my main survival world on single player, I only killed the dragon because I accidentally went to the end (don't ask), so I didn't have any stuff on me, so I just put myself into creative and killed it :p

    Honestly I made the effort of killing him only once. I think it takes too much time, so I did it only once so I can say that I killed him :D

    We did go on to kill it, though it was quite anticlimactic to say the least. I respect that Mojang is trying to implement an objective to complement their open world structure, but I feel like its unnecessary. The open world aspect is more than enough for me, as there is much to do and create.

    Yes I just about managed to do it. I created a gold stockpile to create the ultimate golden apple. This gave me fire and explosion resistance, after that it became every easy to defeat it. It took quite a long time but I managed it!
