How do you defend your bases?

A ton of water walls with trenches dug to bedrock level with slabs and some diagonal walls is good against most average raiders. If a faction is trying to cannon our walls/base, we will go outside with armor and try to sabotage their cannon and kill the enemy. Usually, even if an enemy tries to cannon us, they won't get past our walls without running out of TNT

 

TnT mines, or pitfall traps usually. The player steps on said trap and gets dropped into a put of lava. I usually make bases out in the middle of the ocean though so if a player wanted to grief me they would have to find me.

 

I just hide my bases underwater and then put TNT around the outside in obscure places. I always make sure that I have a clever escape route, too. I've used rail cars with redstone to get out of there quicker than walking or running.

 

TNT in some cases when i want to see some explosion but most of the times i place traps all around my buildings. Ofcourse i also build walls out of stone bricks, like 2 or 3 rows wide. And if everything fails there's me waiting fully armoured.

 

I do my defense Attack on Titan style, with a lot of walls. I mean a whole lot of walls. I would sometimes have at least 3 layers of 10 block thick walls surrounding my base and farmland, the first wall was for main defense, the second wall I arm with cannons and the third, there's pit and the last is just me trying to fend off the enemies. It's a lot of work trying to build a defense system like this.

 

Well most of the bases I build are underground so I'm not that worried of being slaughtered on an onslaught but I do line some solid defense. Since my base has a single tunnel opening I just plug the paths with cobblestones layer by layer.

 

With ingenious traps lol. I avoid cannons whenever possible because traps, to me, are just more fun!

 

Trap holes in the ground to where if they walk to me they fall to their death, pretty simple.

 

Mostly pitfall traps, sometimes a dispenser filled with arrows and such.

 

I like to build my base with a bottleneck entrance. From there I place cannons aiming at the entrance and traps laid out at the entrance for defense. That's pretty much it, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't and I get swarmed.

 

Walls, pits, and traps seem to work best for me. People and mobs usually end up in my moat if they try to attack and then get blown to hell with the TNT traps I've set up.

 

You take your base and put it underground. That's how it works in the factions

 

I usually just have to defend my base from mobs, so I put up some torches and that's it. If I was playing on a MP server though, I'd have to plan out one hell of a defense mechanism to keep those intruders out .

 

I defend my base with a ring of lava around the base and a wooden bridge and stone house. If I'm under attack I just set it on fire and they all fall into the lava. It's super effective.

 

I don't usually have to defend my bases since most of them are underground and most often under a lava pool, just to be safe. Of course, if the time to actually defend my base ever comes I just murder the player who just so happens to be trespassing.

 

I don't really defend my house but I build it on top of a tree like a treehouse, since mobs can't climb on ladders.
