How good are you at building?

But how do you think of idea? do they just instantly come into your head or does it take time to think of something fun and awesoem to build? I can never think of anything good to construct

 

I think I'm a decent builder in Minecraft. In creative I can make an awesome mansion, it'll take me a little while to get everything together, but in the end it'll look cool. When it comes to survival I can make a nice home in a mountain or biome. I don't like to make houses out in the open seeing as I don't like to use up my wooden resources on the first night. Whereas a small cave in a biome can easily be expanded without having to flatten ground (cutting down trees and such).

 

I wouldn't consider myself to be the best at building. I try my best, but honestly I am not all that creative.

 

I'm creative, so in that sense no. I am able to keep on track relatively easily, so once I start a project and know where it is going, I can finish it pretty quickly

 

You seem like a pro Minecraft player

 

Sadly, I'm only as good as my imagination. Usually all my buildings will be blocky. I imagine a grand metropolis in my head and end up making a cube shaped house. I guess I could just get inspired by other peoples work...

Definitely not a great builder compared to others, but I build for myself. The process, planning and looking at the end result is so fun, especially when done with friends. I'm not the most creative or the most patient, but hey, I have fun building stuff and that's all that matters ^-^

I'm good until I go too high. I get brave and decide to build horizontally. I usually fall and kill myself and repeat the process until I give up.

 

Out of all the friends I play with, I am definitely the best builder out of all of them. I can build a nice big house in a matter of minutes. If you give me a day or two I can put together an intricate building with secret tunnels and hideouts.

 

I think I'm above average as my friends are impressed with my creations. And I spend lots of hours developing and building my creations. Plus I've followed and gained ideas and tips from YouTubers that are pros with buildings.

 

At some point you actually need to start planning things out on paper! If the project gets complex enough it can be a bit frustrating to constantly fix the dimensions as you're building because you want a larger walkway or something like that.

 

I am not that good at making a fortress that you could look at and say "Wow that is awesome" though I am good with redstone, I think my greatest creation was a wall that rebuilds itself. If you blow it up, up it goes again and repairs. Or the fact I have build some impressive cannons in my time.

 

You're meant to plan on paper? what if you suck at drawing?

 

When I first started, I was pretty awful. Everything I built was always so boxy and rectangle shaped. Now, I am much better with incorporating many different designs. I'm also better with picking which block types to use and how much is too much birch wood!

 

When it comes to building I think I'm about average. I like having a lot of useful things around for survival, but just the basics. A wheat farm, an infinite water source, a chest room, a bedroom, etc. But on the outside my buildings are generally very basic. I like to mix it up a bit sometimes and use different types of wood and sometimes sand but you probably wouldn't want me to build your house for you.

 

I only play survival, but if I have the time, I usually can make something decent looking. Solo play for me is more about survival. I don't care that much about looks. When playing online however, looks matter more.

 

Like anything, I think your ability to build well just comes with practice. Unfortunately I don't believe creativity can be learned or taught, only nurtured and improved upon, if that makes any sense. haha

 

I've gotten better at building as I've played the game more. My problem most of the time is I don't spend enough time on a single house to make it really cool. I get bored and want to start on new designs all the time. Despite that though, my houses from when I first started to now are DRASTICALLY different.

 

Kinda true, really. People build huge cities and such and you're just left wondering how you can even scale up to that kind of creativity (and perseverance!) It's pretty jarring.

 

Same story for me. If you play the game alone, the moment you can satisfy your basic needs you start to grow bored. Few thing which are really dangerous from there on.

 

I played alone when I was new and the game did die out for me within a few months but luckily I figured out how to set up servers so I was up and playing again in no time!
