I'd desire new guns with specal ammo without having to buy the dlc

Adding the need to repair and clean weapons in the game is a really nice idea. I really like it :D
Although having your weapon breaking on you when fighting mutants? That would just be annoying xD

Yeah It could be annoying but would require the player to be more responsible for their weapons! I like the idea.

Also I could see it working as:
Weapon is unclean, dirty, or just unmaintained: Higher chance of jamming, less damage, etc

Weapon is in poor condition, such as poor parts: Less accuracy, decreased damage, higher chance of jamming, chance of breaking completely.

Obviously both have the same features as the other, but could be tweaked or changed. I like the idea.

O god please no, that was also in Far cry 2 and yeah, it's more realistic, but it's only frustrating. They shouldn't go to far with realisme.

Yeah, it happens too often in Far Cry 2. But my version would have it only once or twice, maybe three times, randomly, in each playthrough. It wouldn't be a major gameplay element, and could be fixed within a second or two. I think it would just be that tiny little detail, like the Bastard overheating in Metro 2033 (only saw that on my fourth/fifth playthrough). :) Comments?

If they can find a balance with it, and like you said not happen to often, then I think it would be a great element to add. I still support my idea of cleaning/maintaining/repairing

Yeah, I've just been playing Stalker, and the ammo in there misfires, sometimes in the heat of battle. It's a little annoying sometimes, but usually I think "Cool, a nice little realistic touch!" :) Stalker was released 2006/2007, FarCry 2 2008. But did FarCry 1 have jamming guns?

I think the Kalash (74) in Metro 2033 was the best-looking gun ever in vide games. And yet I think that it would be very nice with some new guns for Last Light, for example a hunting rifle, as the people of the metro get most of their weaponry from the surface. Or just any other weapon that you can get from the surface. Also more homemade stuff like molotov cocktails and fused bombs would be a great addittion.

^ Molotov cocktails would be excellent. I don't think it would go against the Metro feel, either, because they have flamethrowers and stuff. I'm guessing that molotov's could be made with empty bottles and flamethrower-fuel, right? :)

i think that they need to focus on the "home made" weapons, liek the basterd in metro 2033, i would love to see all the creative ways tehy can make guns, crude, but effective. also if there was a form of customization for weapons liek finding duckt tape somewhere and taping mags together or attaching scopes (military or home made) just my ideas :p

Agreed, more homemade weapons and customization on them. (altrough finding duct tape and making them your self wouldn't fit in the style the game has.)
Maybe some new weapons that aren't homemade, like some sort of portable light machine gun, sort of like the heavy auto shotgun but with "normal" ammo. Though the minigun from the trailer should't be one.

Hmm, the minigun sounds interesting, though, made of clock parts. Note: I don't think it's very ammo-economical, and therefore wouldn't be a practical weapon in Metro, but it's interesting. They will apparently downplay it in the final game, they were just showing it off in the demo, as well as using the high firepower to accentuate the destructible environments. :)

The only problem I realy dislike with it is that it is portable, especially if it uses real ammo instead of bb balls.
You'd have to have the strength of schwarzenegger to be able to fire it without put most of the bullets on the celling.

Agreed. Also, the guy in the demo can't die, whereas we would be killed pretty quickly, due to the poor accuracy and kickback of the minigun. So I hope it will have it's drawbacks, to keep it balanced. :)

    PC master race ;)

If you have a decent computer that can play top end games, then definitely get it on PC. It looks and plays best on PC and in my view immersion is best on PC.

Like a hidden vault which contains a experimental weapon, but there is few ammunition for it (which can't be sold/trade). I like it!

    New Weapons and ammo commonality

Several new weapons are being introduced in Last Light, and with them new ammo types. I'm curious as to a) whether the inventory slot system will work as it does in 2033, and b) whether the new weapons will share ammo with the old ones and each other.
With the info available right now, I can see a few issues I'm curious about. For example, the new shotgun shell-firing pistol. Apparently some of the upgrades for it involve modified ammo types, like incendiary. Will these be pickups in the environment, or does standard ammo convert to the upgraded type when loaded? As for the other new weapons, it seems safe to assume that the Valve (side-loading bolt-action rifle) will use 5.45 rounds. Also, it's plain that the minigun will use 12.7x108 Russian rounds (same as the DshK). However, the new sniper rifle (apparently called the Surprise) seen in some of the new gameplay is, according to the wiki, chambered in 14.5mm, a different Russian caliber. It seems inconvenient to have two types of heavy ammo, but perhaps this foreshadows a new inventory system. Thoughts?

The inventory system will be based off of the circular inventory system in M2033.

And it's good someone used the article I wrote on the Surprise :3 you've put forward some good questions, but my question is that are there going to be different types of military grade ammunitions? A military grade shotgun shell, etc?

So does that mean you will still have a pistol, auto, and special slot, or will there be more? I like that system because it's pretty realistic: One can imagine carrying a revolver, an assault rifle (especially a compact/stripped down one like the VSS or Bastard), and a small shotgun like the Duplet. That actually seems possible to me. It does get a little sill with the bigger guns, but still. The game wouldn't be as realistic with more slots.
Also, I'm wondering/it might be a good idea to have each slot be open to whatever type of weapon we want in it. For example, of for some reason I wanted to carry a Hellsing, a Tihar, and a Surprise, and nothing else, why shouldn't I? Now that I think about it though, restricting at least the specials to one at a time seems solid, since they are usually largest/heaviest.
